"We went to Stonewalls for our 29th anniversary dinner and were not disasapilointed. We were ealy dinners right after the open. Food quality and Service were exceptional. We had the mushroon appitiser. I had the NY strip with ceasar Salad and creamed spinache my wife had the fillet with the lobster Addition and baked potatoes. My food Was cooked perfectly. If I had and complaint it would be the ceasar salad as it seemed below the quality of the other food. Perhaps the ceasar Dressing Was not homemade. Service was exceptional. Price was on the upper end of the Ränge but was worth every pennt. We will definitely return."

"Great place with great people! I can honestly say that this is some of the best coffee in the high country! Every time I enter the cafe, I am greeted with warm and welcoming smiles! The owners are genuinely great people and do amazing things for the community. I recently moved from the area and will drive 25 minutes out of my way in order to visit my friends at Mountain Grounds. Worth a trip if you're visiting the area and worth making your regular coffee stop if you live here! Dietary restrictions: They offer several gluten free options!"

"Incredible coffee!!! I ordered a medium roast caramel iced coffee with just cream, and it was absolutely delightful. My boyfriend and I have been here for three consecutive days, haha. I really enjoy the atmosphere of the place; all it needs is a chessboard, and Fred and Larry's would be the perfect spot to hang out! I mentioned my gluten allergy to the girl at the counter, and she informed me that all their syrups are gluten-free, which made me feel really comfortable. Honestly, this is some of the best coffee I've ever tasted, and they even offer gluten-free food options!"

"The food is delicious and the staff is incredibly friendly. I just wish they could hire more employees to increase their availability. We tried to go back for brunch the next day (Sunday), but unfortunately, we were informed that they no longer serve brunch due to staffing shortages. They do an outstanding job with the food, and I hope they can find more staff soon! For appetizers, we had the tuna soup and curry chicken with tomatoes, and for the main dish, we ordered the black salmon."

"I recently visited Lowes Foods and had a disappointing experience. While I was in the cereal aisle, an employee talking on her phone accidentally bumped into me, almost causing me to fall. When I politely said "excuse me," she acted as if it was my fault. Later, as I was checking out, she followed me to my car and took a photo of my license plate. I confronted her about this behavior and then left. I’m not sure why she felt the need to record my plate number. Just a warning to be careful around employees distracted by their phones while working."

"wed is jazz (shane chalke on fb) night and her combo was great for listening and dancing. the menu included sushi; steak; pork pliers and light tariff; and, preparation / presentation was excellent. the staff is very friendly and attentive. they have a complete service bar. we would recommend looking for a nice meal and a fun evening."

"When our food finally arrived, I ordered the pulled pork, but it was ice cold and dry – definitely the worst I've ever had. I can't understand how anyone could rave about this place; it seems like they must not have had good food before to consider this acceptable. "This is the sister property of the same named restaurant in Newland and Roan Mountain (I've visited both before) but the difference here is real margaritas!! They are absolutely wonderful! I ordered the top shelf large and was slightly embarrassed with the size but laughed it off (half way through when the tequila kicked in). This restaurant is larger than its sister properties. The staff is wonderful (I'm partial to the amazing staff in Roan Mountain bc it is closer) and I felt the same sense of pride from everyone I encountered. They have the same set up with a salsa bar, they bring you bean dip with your chips (and you get ur own salsa from the bar area). I always order queso with chorizo but this trip I was alone and not overly hungry at lunch so I can't compare. I ordered the lunch combo 6 I think was the number. Enchilada and taco with rice and beans. All of the meat was seasoned very well and rice cooked perfectly (I didn't try the beans). All in all I would pick this location over the other for the margaritas but service very equal to the great Roan mountain staff!"

"Strange experience. Couldn’t get the salmon cooked well done instead of medium. Couldn’t get salad dressing on the side. Never been to a restaurant so unwilling to let a guest request the temperature of the meat the are paying to be cooked. Or couldn’t be bothered to allow dressing to be on the side? Made me wonder if they even cook the food there or if this is a catering front. Tomato salad was more like a gazpacho. Kind of sad. When I went to App my parents always took me to the old Louisiana purchase. Was always amazing. That was a first class place. Only thing that seemed to resemble the good days was the wine list."

"Banner elk cafe tavern shares their kitchen with the lodge so you get to choose from 2 different menus. Banner elk breakfast ends at 11 and their lunch starts at 11:30 so youll be given the lodge menus if you arrive between 11 and 11:30. I recommend asking for the banner elk menu as well if you are seated between 11 and 11:30 to see more food options. This is probably the best place youll find in banner elk, has cozy ambience and a lot of seating options. So prepare for waiting for a table and also for the food on weekends. Our group of 5 had to wait about 25 mins for a table. Once you have your name on the waitlist, they have an online wait tracker which helps. Coffee: I personally enjoyed my toffee coffee but like others in my party mentioned to me- the coffee itself was very mild, felt more like a milk drink. Food: There is a veggie burger not on menu but it's the beyond burger type patty, not black bean. My veggie friends opted for the thai chili wrap which they enjoyed. Curly fries were fantastic. The blackened mahi in the sandwich was good, sandwich overall was on the blander side. I would love to try their breakfast items next time i am in the area."

"We visited Sugar Mountain for the weekend and I'm so glad we found this place for dinner. We called to go and showed up and didn't have to wait long for our food. It definitely felt hot and fresh through the bag and it smelled soooo good in the car. The hostess who welcomed us was very friendly and professional. The atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable, and I wish we had gone to dinner earlier to eat. Going the food was still excellent! Hot and delicious. The salads were fresh, the bread was creamy and tasty, and the chicken Parmigiana was cheerful, fussy, the pasta was cooked for perfection and the sauce tasted homemade. My husband and I were very happy with our dinner. I just wish we lived closer!"

"It was interesting that they called this restaurant Grandview when we came to the house, I expected to find a look... just to find a TV screen with the view that some business on this street has. That's funny. There was already a lot waiting for 9:00, so I expected the food to be worth a wait. The pancakes, liver slush and hashbrowns have good reviews from the family. I was very disappointed with the cookies and Gravy, not a good taste. The convicted cattle **** tasted like he came out of a can. The staff was excellent and the restaurant was very clean. I might give this restaurant a second chance if it didn't wait long."

"This was my first visit to Bodega kitchen. The smell when you walk in is divine. The bathrooms are clean and well stocked with toilet paper. Service was friendly but very slow. Lunch took about an hour. We sat for about 20 minutes before our order was taken. The server did apologize and comped our black bean soup. We also had the vegetable bowl and southwest salad with grilled shrimp. All of the food was delicious. The black bean soup was a generous portion and very good! Both of our main meals were enough food but seemed a small portion for the price. My husband got the beer on tap and he really enjoyed it. With tip our bill was a little over $50. One other little thing is that they use these small glasses for water. Overall will visit again because I hope the slow service was an anomaly."

"It was so fabulous, that I don't even know what to say! From the cozy and relaxing atmosphere, friendliness of Ed and Vicki the owners, to the excellent service by the staff, and onto the DELICIOUS food, it is hard to even describe! My new husband and I had our wedding reception in the private room that they provide there, and it was perfect! They played Our Song for us and we had our dance, we had an excellent bottle of champagne, and they had no problem with us bringing our cake in. They did everything they could to make it a perfect night for us! Even helped us take pictures and have a toast! They thoughtfully had a fire in the fireplace for us, in that room. The filet mignon was cooked EXACTLY how we ordered it the first time, the King crab legs lobster tail were delicious, with their own butter emulsion that was totally unique! I had the beet salad, which was amazing, and he had the wedge salad, which he loved! The mussels appetizer was so scrumptious that we wanted to just drink the broth down to the bottom of the bowl! Everything was perfect! Thanks to Eddie, Vicki and Nicole Plante! I love you guys so much!"

"Butter my cookie and give me another one! I'm so glad we wanted to have breakfast here before we drove home, although it was crazy snowing – it would have been a great last meal! I don't like cookies, but these were so light and fluffy and tasty... with this big ol 'tasteful, not greasy, not too spicy, but tasty right sausage patty in there, man, my mouth is watered! The pancakes were as big as the plate and lighter and fluffier and better than anyone I've ever had, too! The bacon and hashbrowns were extra crispy without having to order them in this way. The grottos were just the right consistency, and I only had to try the Cheesy Hashbrown-Casserole, so glad I did! Eggs were cooked exactly. And no, if you ask, I didn't eat it all myself, my husband and I shared so that we could have a taste of everything! This small farmhouse is right opposite Lowe and easy to miss, but I will certainly not miss it again. Every time I'm close to Banner Elk, I drive out of my way to get there - and I don't say that while I sit on the local Lügner table too!"

"For my main course, I had the fish dinner accompanied by red beans, rice, and collard greens, and it was incredibly flavorful—definitely did not disappoint! We decided to take the Voodoo Pasta and Smokehouse Combo back to our cabin for later. I also enjoyed a locally brewed honey amber beer and cider, which were among the best I've ever had! Our waiter, Blake, was attentive and made sure everything was just right for us. The entire menu looked appealing, and we had a tough time deciding what to order, but Blake was patient and provided some excellent recommendations. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and inviting, with a great music playlist that really set the mood. The food and service were top-notch, and the drinks were excellent as well. If you find yourself in the area, don't miss the chance to stop by—you're sure to enjoy it! They have plenty of TVs for sports and a billiard table, making it a great spot to relax. You'll definitely leave satisfied!"

"If this is in the top ten, I wonder if reviewers have ever had good food. What we ordered: Ham n cheese omelette, grits, toast, coffee that I changed to Dr. Pepper. Steak n eggs, hashbrowns, toast and a diet coke. $35 to eat eggs, an omelette and 1 piece of toast. This review gets 2 stars because we did eat and the omelette was decent. Grits tasted like they mixed it with actual sand, thick and cold Hashbrowns =dried out cardboard, also cold Steak- ordered medium, was served cold and bleeding. Coffee- weak dirty water Toast- dry and cold Our server hesitated asking us if everything was ok. Literally she’d ask and then walk away. Service was what has come to be expected since the pandemic. Crappy, but hey- at least someone is working. Over all not even worth complaining, we just won’t return. We paid $35 for a lesson learned."

"BEWARE OF SUSHI. We have been eating Sushi our whole lives all over the country. Within 5 mins of my son eating a Salmon/Tuna Roll he was extremely sick. My son is currently in the hospital from what we understand to be food poisoning. The hospital staff said “YOURE NOT THE FIRST ONE TO GET SICK FROM THAT PLACE.” I never write reviews but today I am, from the hospital."
