"My third review. We eat here A LOT. I 've seen some improvements since my last and I gotta say: this is quickly becoming our absolute favorite in town. We 've started coming here way more because the food has just been really stellar and we also like the staff. Professional and friendly which can be hard to find. While I don 't think I 've ever had my socks knocked off, I also haven 't had a bad experience. One of the things I love about Allegro is that I know I 'm going to have a good meal that comes exactly as described on the menu. Recently we had one experience that could have been bad was handled brilliantly. We were in during restaurant week and it was BUSY. We didn 't mind we 're leisurely diners and will sit over a meal for hours and there were other customers who clearly did. I got the pork off the menu (it 's my current favorite) and it was way underdone. I HATE sending stuff back but I 'm also terrified of rawish pork so I nicely asked the waitress who was helping us if I could get it cooked a little more. No questions, no judgement she whisked it right up and said, Totally. Another waitress saw that I didn 't have a plate and came to check if my meal hadn 't come. I told her I had asked for it to be cooked a little more and she said, Yeah, we don 't want anyone eating raw pork! and when it came back it was perfectly done. Here 's what this says to me: first, they were aware that it was a busy night and that something had gotten out of the kitchen that wasn 't fully cooked. Second, they didn 't balk about it or try to explain/justify/etc. It was just, Hey, this could use a little more time in the oven. Yes it could. And I like that. Sometimes places can be REALLY weird about it. There have been two nights when we 've been there that have been INSANELY busy and the staff just rises to the occasion and gets things done. I 've never seen a staff member complain, never seen anyone be rude to each other, never seen tears or stress. The team works really well together and puts on a great service. Whether you 're in town for a visit or live here this is definitely a great spot for dinner. Personally, I 'd plan a long meal at either the bar at the table, complete with a bottle of wine. But, honestly, even if you just grab a quick bite you 'll be happy you did."

"The veal cutlet was cooked to perfection, practically melting in my mouth. The zeety was a bit cold around the edges, and the red sauce had a slight sourness to it. It was best balanced with a sweeter base, like sugar or even raisins, to counteract the acidity. Fortunately, the warm food complemented the dish well. My salad tasted fresh, as if it were made with quality ingredients. The grated cheese came in a small shaker, but I struggled a bit to get it out. Once I removed the cover, a generous amount came out; it was fresh and slightly moist, adding a great flavor. I chose to sit in the bar area, as the main dining room was a little noisy due to a lively party. This area had better acoustics, allowing for a more relaxed atmosphere. The décor was pleasantly understated, making the restaurant visually appealing. As I was getting ready to leave, I noticed the place starting to fill up, which is always a good sign. It suggests the food must be popular, as diners wouldn’t return if the meals were disappointing. The menu doubled as the placemat, which is a clever concept. I often wondered if those plastic-covered menus were cleaned between uses, but I’ve seen other places wipe theirs down. There were comfortable chairs near the entrance where you could wait, and there was ample parking available, complete with a ramp for those who may have difficulty walking.
