"I don't know what happened. It's been a while. This once upon a time treat on 127th Street has lost its flavor. We used to come here regularly, as a treat from the usual burgers and fries, recommended by a family friend who hipped us to it over 20 years ago. The Italian combo with a side of cheese fries was our traditional go-to order. But this most recent trip put us in a trick bag. The sausage was a series of smaller overcooked meat portions arranged to fit in the bun. The beef didn't merit mention. Dipping it, drowning it with cheese sauce, adding chunks of green pepper could not disguise the fact that something was amiss. Add on the almost $25 cost for two orders pretty much sealed the deal. Baby, bye! COVID recovery and inflation has ruined the joy of good tasty food everywhere. Money and time wasted, again. Daggone it."

"The restaurant frequently has trouble opening on time and sometimes doesn't accept orders during their posted hours. I arrived at 8:55 AM and waited in the parking lot until 9:05 AM. When I got to the drive-thru, I was ignored for five minutes. Then, when I reached the window, I waited another two minutes, only to be told to come back in 30 minutes because they weren’t ready yet. This is very unprofessional—everything should be prepared before the 9 AM opening time."

"I like my off the beaten path dive breakfast places when I'm on the road and this one definitely lived up to that. Well it's not as divy as some places but it's not fresh looking or fancy so somewhere in the middle, it's definitely been there for a while. It's not very big and has booths along the walls with tables crammed in the center of the room. The place is very popular because the whole time I was there people came in and waited for tables and the phone never stopped with the take out orders and people were always walking in for take out. While I was there the crowd was police officers, a local pastor, family with a small child and everything in between so it has mass appeal. The menu had all the regulars and I was going to get the ham steak and eggs until I saw the country plate which is eggs, hash browns, sausage patties, and a biscuit covered in sausage gravy. When the plate hit the table I thought that I made a mistake because it was not the best looking country plate that I have been served. The eggs were good and cooked perfect with three of them. The hash browns were soft on the inside and crisped on the outside and seasoned, I like it. The sausage patties were good and flavorful, not the crappy bland kind, thank you. The biscuit was fresh and nicely browned with a nice buttery flavor that I liked as well. The sausage gravy was a little skimpy and very average at best but the tasty sausage and biscuit made up for that. My first impression of the country breakfast was completely wrong and it was actually pretty tasty and I finished the whole plate which I rarely do because I liked it and it was under $10. Overall my breakfast was solid and better than the average place and I can see why it's so busy while I was there. I would definitely go back here again with no problem but maybe at 6-7 am because at 8 am it's non stop balls to the wall."

"I ordered the grilled chicken salad, it was good with nice size pieces of chicken. For me, that salad would have lasted 3 days, unfortunately it was mostly lettuce, once you scratch the surface with a nice amount of water at the bottom. My order was called in but was not ready when I arrived, they had to find my order slip. So, I'm certain that my order was a rush order which explains the reason for the excessive amount of water. I'll try them again."

"I give this spot a two star rating because the service staff was nice and the mac n cheese was DELISH!!! My mom placed an order on Soul Food Sunday because we got a plugger in the neighborhood and had been salivating ever since. The food was ready for pick up in the quoted time and we couldn't wait to dive in. Our tab came to $84 for 4 meals and 8 extra sides. The fried chicken dinner $15) consisted of 4 wings and two sides. The baked chicken dinner was a better portioned serving seemed like 1/4th white) and moist but we couldn't get over the fact that what equated to a 4 pc from Harold's or J&J cost $15!!! We also ordered extra sides of mac n cheese, dressing, green beans, cabbage, sweet potatoes, and greens. As I said before, we all agreed that the mac n cheese was delish, the sweet potatoes were super sweet like toothache sweet), the green beans were tasty, but the dressing, cabbage, and greens were all spicy. They mention that the cabbage is spicy but it seems like they add abbot of spice to most menu items! Overall, the service was great but the food was not worth the price at all!!! I'd patronize them if the meals were more in the $8-$9 range. I'm not cheap but I do consider the value in all of my purchases and it just wasn't there today."

"Our reservations were scheduled for the top of the opening hour, so we were the third party to arrive. It was really cold inside; the hostess was friendly and seated us promptly after informing us that there was an issue with their reservation system at the moment. We ordered the wings, jerk rolls and a couple of drinks. The jerk rolls were room temperature and the wings were flavorful. We went for another round of wings and tried coconut shrimp. The second order of wings were freshly made and the taste was much better than the first round, my sister said the shrimp were alright. We went for the island specials drinks and they were lighter than expected. Tried for another round of wings along with peas and rice. By this time the waitress said they were out of wings and peas with rice, so we called it a night and left. We were not expecting them to run out of food with only 13 bodies seated inside, but it happened. Couldn't take the family a meal home from Island Vybes Jerk Bar Grill."

"I called in my order and arrived 30 minutes later, only to be told by the staff member that he didn't take my order. After I showed him proof that I had called, he claimed he hadn't made my order. I ended up waiting for 10 minutes during my lunch break, and I definitely won't be coming back. To top it off, he even yelled at me for the situation. Food rating: 1/5."
