"I've been dining at Chequers for years, though I hadn’t visited much since the pandemic. I was glad to see that they have designated some tables as unavailable for additional spacing. I typically prefer sitting at a table or in one of the main area booths, as the upper booths are smaller and quite close together.
Now, onto the food! I absolutely love their potato skins topped with cheese and bacon, and I always make sure to order the Spinach Dip on the side—definitely ask for extra! That’s usually my go-to meal 90% of the time. I also enjoy the fried vegetable basket, and their chips with the spinach dip are addictively delicious. If you’re looking for something different, try the teriyaki burger or the Monte Cristo. They often have daily specials, but I tend to stick to my favorites. Their sweet tea is excellent as well.
As for the service, it’s fantastic! The staff is really friendly. One small drawback is that you have to pay at the front instead of at your table, which makes it a bit awkward to fill in the tip while they’re watching. This setup could definitely be improved, especially during COVID times.
Overall, I believe Chequers is heading in a positive direction with these improvements. After a few years, we all could use a little refresh! I recommend adding it back to your lunch rotation and giving them another try."
