"After being seated, we noticed how hot it was in the restaurant. Overheard the waitress complaining to guests about how hot she always is in there and how bad it is to work there that she's getting another job. She let everyone know about her business. My husband's blue cheese dressing started turning to vinegar do to it being old. For the over priced meals.... our fried bread was dried from being cooked hours before, the boxed chicken fried steak my husband had was over fried and his french fries... again cooked hours before serving. My chicken tenders, actually were good. Everything else, not to talk about. We WANT go back!"

"I recently ordered takeout for dinner and, unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. The meal was overpriced, falling in the $20–30 range per person, which is quite steep for what I received. Food quality was merely average, earning a score of 3 out of 5. The service was also mediocre, another 3 out of 5. However, the overall atmosphere was quite lacking, receiving a 1. I was hoping for a better experience for the price I paid."

"I first tried Maplewood in Lake Charles. I honestly wasn’t impressed. With the food and especially the customer service. I thought I would give this place a try still. All I can say is wow! The atmosphere at this location is so much better. The manager was amazing. He checked on everyone multiple times. Assisted his employees. He even checked on them and explained stuff amazingly when one questioned something. Definitely a boss you would look for. The food was magnificent. Hot and fresh! However, the only complaint I have is that the portions are small for the price… the other location had a larger portions. Example: we ordered the fried pickles. Maybe 15 small pickles for $5-$7? A little too pricy for me. Same with the onion rings as well. That’s my only complaint. So I’ll take a star away. Other then that it’s fantastic! I’ll try again and update my review of the portion changes."

"Would I return? Absolutely! I went back today and tried the beef tips over rice, along with a hamburger and fries. Once again, I had eaten half my meal before I remembered to take photos. Today, I sampled the red beans and sausage, as well as the pork roast—both were delicious, and I highly recommend trying them! The pork roast came with a deep, rich gravy that made it impossible to stop eating; it was that good. The red beans were perfectly cooked, with some of them breaking down into the gravy and enriching its flavor. It was such a treat, and I can’t wait to try more dishes! For dessert, I had bread pudding with rum icing. Everything at this restaurant is made fresh daily, so if you miss your mom's home cooking, you need to stop by and enjoy a meal—it's a nostalgic experience you won't regret!"

"This wendys is great. The one in deridder stole my money, refused to give me my food, and locked the door and threatened to call the cops when i asked for it back. I called corporate but couldnt get anyone. Kid-friendliness: They treat kids very well. No playground or anything, but nobody does these days. Parking: Plenty of parking Wheelchair accessibility: Could get my wheelchair in from qny direction.
