"We enjoyed a very nice breakfast today at Cathy's Deli on Lyons Ave in Santa Clarita. We use to go all the time when it was the original Danny's Deli and then Cathy's Deli. Guess we have been busy doing other things and haven't made our way there in a while. Now the new owner Eric and his team have made Cathy's Breakfast Cafe into a homemade wonderland of all kinds of delicious dishes. If you like Eggs Benedict like I do they have several choices of their Benny's. Their breakfast potatoes, sausage links and toast with homemade jam complimented any egg choice. The coffee was good with a selection of home made flavored creams. We tried the snicker doodle with just a hint of cinnamon. All the food is simple and clean nothing bad just like grandma use to make. Our server Elisa was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable. A big shout out, go try this place. We give it 5 Summer Stars!!!!!! :"

"If you're looking for a great dinner option, this place is a fantastic choice! They even offer a kids' menu, making it family-friendly. **Service:** 5/5 I opted for takeout, and the service was excellent. **Food Quality:** 5/5 The food was scrumptious! "I had the vegan breakfast burrito, and shared a vegan brownie and chocolate chip scones. I was pleasantly surprised! all very tasty. my matcha latte was also delicious. the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. some vegan options, all clearly marked. These include breakfast, lunch, drinks and dessert options. I'll be back in a moment. great discovery!"

"Don’t let the exterior deter you—this place is truly a hidden gem. My wife and I have passed by this restaurant countless times over the years, always wanting to stop in but never quite having the courage to try something new. Now, we deeply regret not visiting sooner. The ambiance is fantastic, and the scents and sounds create a delightful atmosphere. The staff is wonderful, and the food? Surprisingly, it was absolutely incredible, too! My wife ordered the shepherd’s pie, while I opted for the sausage rolls, and both dishes were delicious, packed with flavor, and made us feel right at home. As for the sticky toffee pudding—it is unbelievably good! It's honestly the best dessert I've ever had. I'm already thinking about when I can return for more. Actually… scratch that—stay away, so I can enjoy more of that toffee pudding for myself!"

"We went to In-N-Out Burger for dinner on the route between LA and Sequoia National Park... it seems like a classic American fast food, with good raw materials, but as an Italian I have to say that in the hamburger there was very little meat, even if the sandwich was full of the other ingredients and that the chips did not have an original potato coating, but more of cardboard. The guys at the service, however, were very kind and quick, the place was clean and nice."

"So, I wasn 't even thinking about eating here. I was looking for some burger joint that I couldn 't find and thought, why don 't we just eat here. I was with my wife and she said ok... So that was enough for me. So we walked up and noticed the 'chilaquiles special ' on the door.... We ordered two. Mines with scrambled eggs, hers sunny side up. First off, the eggs were delicious! I don 't know what the heck they do to make them so soft and fluffy and flavorful. But I tip my hat to the chef. Then, the chilaquiles themselves.... O...M...G.... They 're so good. You have the choice of red or green sauce... We tried the green. This plate comes with a side of beans and rice too. Then we washed it all down with coffee, some of the best coffee I 've tried if I 'm being honest. Then we noticed a guy walk out the kitchen with these huge jugs (pun not intended) of colorful drinks. I asked what were they and he said one was a mix of cucumber, mint, and spinach. The other was 'Jamaica '. I gave it a shot and you should too. Even if you come here just for that drink, it 's definitely worth it. So sweet and refreshing. Very 'authentic Mexican ' flavor for sure. My wife and I will definitely be coming back to try their other plates. I 'm sure they will be just as delicious, if not better than today 's."

"I have been coming here for over 25 years, it was the only place in town that served Colombian food !! Take it From a Colombian!! The empanadas and Plato montañero where amazing!!, the last time I was here empty were no longer on the Menu!!! Sad News !!!!! But dinner was good . Today my Colombian Plato Montañero, was not Good My rice was Fishy with vegetables!!not white rice, Colombian we only eat white rice, The AREPA tasted like tamale filling not the unusual arepa The plátano frito and the chicharrón And fried egg Was the only authentic part, Either bring a chef that knows Colombian food or get it off The menu: The margaritas are awesome!! "This restaurant has the best service of any sit down restaurant I have eaten at in months. They seem to be a family run business without the staffing problem of the restaurant industry right now. Not only do they have enough staff, the staff is very experienced, attentive and efficient. I eat out to have a low stress experience. I am a very good cook so I can make myself yummy food, but I eat out to have a relaxing experience with great service in a nice environment and to catch up with friends. That being said, the food is very delicious and the portions large. Thank you to the lovely people that provide this calm oasis in a crazy world."

"Given the most recent reviews of this place, none of of which are positive, I felt the need to update my original review from last year and restate that I'm still in agreement with my original review. This place is a great place with great food. The actions by the previous owner (check the news for more info) has left a wake of operational challenges for the staff and new owner, most of those unexpected. They are needing to rebuild while still running a business that THEY know is with it. There are inherent issues with soft openings under new management, but that's what soft openings are. If you can't handle the potential chaos, then come back in 90 days. Undoubtedly, the food was great, as always. If you've not tried this place, don't let a few negative reviews deter you. It doesn't matter what the owner did before. Everyone deserves to have a dream and see it through."

"Amazing! The new owners are carrying on the tradition! I ordered the Turkey Special and it was just as delicious as always, along with the Godfather Kalbsal with paprika and onions. I'm so happy I stopped by for dinner. They are open until 7:00 and the staff works Monday through Saturday. They are fantastic! It's great to see Maria back in action!"

"The chef's are excellent here! They were fast, responsive, and on point the entire dining experience. The only complaint I have is that this establishment waters down their soy sauce. (and by watered down, I mean like 90% water) I grabbed a soy sauce from 3 different tables and they were all the same. It ruins the meal dipping your food into water mixed with wasabi. (And it's been this way since the pandemic) They only offer sodium free, to confuse the fact they're mixing it with water. The real issue I have is how affordable soy sauce is. If they're cutting corners here... where else are they being cheap? They've already increased their prices by like 6 dollars a roll so that worries me. It seems like a really desperate decision, and therefore I'll never eat here again. Too many sushi restaurants in Santa Clarita, all priced the same to go with a restaurant this frugal."

"The quality and pricing of the food, $30 for a small piece of carne, a depressing chile relleno, “enchilada” de queso, beans and rice. Don’t waste your money here, the quality of the food was not great, the beans lacked flavor and tasted like canned beans you buy at the store. The drinks were mediocre at best and not worth the $15 price tag on it. I figured I would come and check this place out because of the heavy advertising WhatsUpSCV does on IG and it was yet another disappointment. The place has potential to be better but it NEEDS to change. To anybody thinking of coming here, you’re better off going to La Cocina or any other chain restaurant out in Santa Clarita. Won’t be coming back here in the future. I’ve had street food that tastes better than this at half the cost."

"We haven't been to Wendy's in a while, and we missed the salad bar. The restaurant was clean, but the checkout seemed either new or not well managed, which delayed our order. The chicken tasted just like you'd expect. The prepared salad was a disappointment compared to the salad bar we remembered from previous visits to Wendy’s. I didn’t try the hamburger this time, but I’ve always enjoyed their square patties."

"On June 18, I went to Subway for lunch. The only employee working was outside cleaning the windows. When he came inside, he rinsed his hands at the sink for about three seconds and then approached to help me. I asked him if he was going to use soap, and he replied that he could. I decided not to pursue it further and walked out. I won’t be returning."

"Best Chicken Katsu Katsu Curry in the city! If you like nice staff, fresh HOT food cultural ambiance, this spot is for you! Came here with my bestie today. I got the Katsu curry, and she got the regular. Bomb af... The curry is thick and has a VERY rich flavor. I loved it. Very generous portions as well. We both got chicken, but if swine is your jam, they also have the Katsu in pork cutlet, as well as other delectable looking items on their menu. Super nice, friendly staff that checked on us but didn't hover. Love it. They also have the GOOD chopsticks... you don't have to rub them together. They click clack with no splinters. Love that for me! Definitely recommend this spot!"

"It's a foodie renaissance in Old Town Newhall and the latest addition is Rustic Burger House! My wife, son and I had an earlyish Friday night dinner and were the among the first in the room which filled up fairly quickly after we arrived. We were excitedto have another gastropub burger joint with vegetarian options and that we could sub a Beyond Meat burger for any of theircreative burger options. Honestly I tend to prefer the Impossible burger, but what I was served was probably the best preparedBeyond patty I'd had (and believe me I've made the rounds... Perfectly charred on the outside and not overcooked on the inside(which is so easy to do with these types of burgers....Served in a fantastic brioche bun (sadly they were out of the pretzel bunwhich we wanted to try with brie, arugula and a sweet element. (Maybe fig? It was really delicious. My gluten free wife gothere's lettuce wrapped and it was a bun sized whole head of lettuce wrapped around that thing. Okay probably too much lettucefor the size of our heads, but it was impressive looking. And our son enjoyed his somewhat plain Beyond Burger a lot too. Anorder of the house fries from the shareable menu was plenty for the three of us (we took some home! so if you're wondering ifit'll do the trick or you should each get your own side...if there's three of you the one shareable portion will probably doit. They have amazing looking shakes on the menu which they weren't quite ready to serve on the night we were there. (newrestaurant . But do yourself a favor and glance at the pics of them on your website...Artists created at least the visuals ofthese shakes. We'll be back to put those in our mouths. Well done Rustic Burger House! "We sat outside and thoroughly enjoyed our desserts. They were all delicious! None of them were overly sweet, and they had a homemade quality that was delightful. The empanada crust was flaky without being overly buttery, and the guava filling was rich with the flavor of ripe guava. The flan was creamy and refreshing. My son absolutely loved his quesadilla and ate every last bite. El Pueblo offers indoor dining, and the food is fantastic. They even have live music on weekend nights, though that has been on hold due to the ongoing pandemic. This family-owned restaurant and bakery is a wonderful establishment that deserves support from the community. Next time you’re in the mood for great Mexican food or dessert, I highly recommend giving El Pueblo a try for lunch or dinner!"

"What an incredible find! We visited on a lovely warm summer evening and enjoyed a meal on the terrace. The chips and salsa were a great precursor to the delicious food that followed! Everything was authentic and fresh. We shared a Molcajete with shrimp, and it was simply amazing—so juicy and flavorful, with the beans adding a wonderful creaminess. The various meats were tender, while the Chile Relleno and Nopales melted in our mouths! My son had the Chuleton (ribeye tacos) accompanied by delicious potatoes and cheese tortillas; he loved them! My daughter was absolutely thrilled with the red mole sauce and the crispy duck skin on her plate. The handmade tortillas were outstanding. The kids enjoyed refreshing Jamaican and guava drinks, which were delightful! We ended the evening with creamy flan and crispy churros served with dulce de leche—a true taste of Mexico. The menu features dishes from two talented chefs, one from Oaxaca and the other from Michoacán. This restaurant shines not only because of the chefs but also due to the wonderful hospitality from the owners and staff. We can’t wait to return and try more items from their menu. It's truly a gem in SCV and has quickly become one of our favorites. And by the way, they have an excellent selection of drinks and cocktails too!"
