"UPDATE: Started working in the area today and decided to try this place again. I'll admit service was better this time. I was doing work on my tablet with headphones in, server still checked on me but respected I was working. They were out of the chicken fingers I wanted, no big deal, I ended up getting some jalapeno poppers. The were really good. Overall better experience. I work in Encino and noticed this place wasn't far. I chose it because I grew up with diners and it looked just like the ones I remember. I walked in and received zero greetings until I asked if I could sit. She said yes, I said thank you, she said nothing. She had long blonde hair in a ponytail, hoop earrings, and a chain necklace. Once seated I got a menu, and she literally walked back less than 5 mins later asking if I was ready yet. So, I ordered quickly. Once I got my food, she never came back. I then sat there for 15 minutes waiting for her to come back. She spoke to all other customers ,and then loudly chatted and laughed with her coworkers. Finally, I came up to the counter to ask for a box and a cup of coffee. When I asked for the coffee she immediately asked if it was to go as though she just wanted me gone. I overheard them also saying they don't want to be there or be waitressing. That part was pretty clear. To be clear, I said thank you anytime she actually served me and even said thank you when I was already feeling frustrated. I was given nothing but silence. The only bright side is I did love my food, so the cook has my thanks."
