"After a long day that started with a 6 AM flight (because why not kick off the day early?), an adventurous ride on public transportation, and making do with nothing more than hopes and dreams instead of overpriced airport food, I finally arrived in Fort Myers Beach. With my phone teetering on a mere 2% battery and the anxiety of potentially being locked out of my Airbnb, I found my way to Matanzas on the Bay. They kindly allowed me to charge my phone at the bar, which was a tremendous relief. While I waited, they served me a fantastic burger alongside refreshing Coronas with lime that really hit the spot. I want to give a special shout-out to the female bartender (I regret not catching her name) for her kindness and engaging conversation. She made my first impression of Fort Myers incredibly positive. If you’re in the area and in search of great food, cold drinks, and genuinely friendly people, Matanzas on the Bay is the place to be. I couldn't be happier with the hospitality I received."
