"As for the coffee, it looked more like what you’d find in the back of a gas station on Route 66. It was coffee, sure, but it was impossible to identify the type. Was it Folgers? Decaf? Bold roast? Who knows? At $1.50, it felt overpriced for such a dark, indistinguishable liquid. I quickly turned my attention to the smoothies, hoping at least a fruit smoothie would redeem the experience. I ordered the soursop smoothie for $4.25. It was a milky white color, which makes sense since soursop is thick and creamy. But when I took my first sip, all I could taste was... milk. Being lactose intolerant, that was quite the unpleasant surprise. I called the bakery to ask if the smoothie contained milk, and the woman replied quite matter-of-factly that all smoothies have milk. Well, that was news to me! After all the soursop I've enjoyed in my life, I never expected my first soursop smoothie experience to be such a letdown. Why didn’t they mention the dairy? What was I thinking? Regarding the service, I can't really fault the woman working there; it’s a small Vietnamese sandwich shop in a strip mall, and she was doing her best under the circumstances. She was quiet and observant but didn’t have much to offer in terms of conversation. Overall, this place does not qualify as a bakery, nor does it evoke a Parisian vibe. The coffee is lacking, and I won't be returning. It likely has its regular customers, but it just doesn’t cater to my tastes at all."
