"This has been an ongoing problem with RED PEPPER. We have been going to this place since it opened. The problem is their lack of knowledge of food safety. They habitually put out raw chicken (Tandoori). This has happened the last 8 times we have gonethere for lunch. I tell the manager and he says ok . They never remove the chicken that was put out and just leave it for thenext potential customer. For a buffet , they are SLOW to replenish the food that is already out. You have to TELL THEM thatthey are out of an item. Service is always decent and your water glass never goes empty. Today, I believe the owner was thereand I had the privilege of showing him the raw chicken his restaurant is serving and told him that this was not a isolatedincident. I told him that this negligence can result in someone getting very sick (I speak from experience). It could alsoresult in a fine with the board of health. He just said that he would tell them, took my plate and left. He and the managernever came out of the kitchen. We have been going to this place since it opened....and told that to the owner. I also told himthat his restaurant is not the only Indian restaurant in the area and we would not be coming back again. He did not seem fazedor really cared. It is sad that yet another vacant storefront will be decorating Rt 22 in Scotch Plains. Nearly $39. tip andbarely ate anything. I guess its money well spent to just get that final F-IT attitude. If the manager and owner do not carethat their cooking practices are potentially dangerous to their customers health, then we do not care to take a risk for foodpoisoning or worse. Rest in Peace Red Pepper. You were good for a long time.....but it is the last time that customersremember."

"I had a disappointing experience with the Chicken Biryani—it was exceptionally bland, possibly the least flavorful dish I've ever had. Despite the chicken being accompanied by an array of spices, it ended up tasting like a mushy, soapy mess. The samosas were served cold and soggy on the inside. The only bright spot was the garlic naan, which was decent, and the lamb vindaloo was also good, albeit a bit lacking in flavor as well. Honestly, it would be wiser to spend your money on a frozen Indian meal from Trader Joe's, as this was even less satisfying than a typical frozen dinner."
