"I’m currently at the restaurant writing this review, and I have to say, the food is fantastic. As a Vietnamese person who has lived on the East Coast for over 20 years and visited Vietnam, I wouldn’t consider myself an expert on authentic pho. My preference is for chicken pho made with chicken broth, as I unfortunately had a bad experience with beef when I was younger. Before coming in, I called to confirm that their broth was suitable for me. The gentleman who answered the phone addressed all my questions thoroughly, and even when he didn’t know something, he took the time to find out rather than rushing to give me an answer like I’ve experienced at other places. Too many times, I’ve had staff say they weren't sure, only to find out later that what I ordered was actually beef or pork.
So, back to this restaurant: they had run out of chicken broth tonight, but they offered to make my dish with vegetarian broth. I have to say, the vegetarian broth with chicken was absolutely delicious! While it didn’t taste exactly like traditional pho, it was more akin to an excellent Asian chicken noodle soup. My fiancé also really enjoyed his drunken noodles, which were perfectly saucy, just how we like them.
The server, who was also the same person I spoke to on the phone, was an outstanding young man. He was incredibly kind and attentive, managing everything on his own at the front of the house. I wholeheartedly give this place a 10/10 recommendation. We’re currently in Alaska due to military deployment, stationed in Fairbanks, but if we ever find ourselves back in the area, we will certainly return!"
