"Let me set the scene: after a long day at work, I ordered $30 worth of bland, empty calories for takeout. In my hunger, I neglected to check the contents of the bag, assuming that a simple shake would reveal its culinary wonders. Strangely, the promise of a drink turned out to be the highlight of the meal – or so I thought. To my dismay, the beverage wasn’t the Thai iced coffee I ordered, but a watered-down version that barely resembled anything drinkable. As someone who doesn’t enjoy coffee, especially not cold coffee, this “drink” was off-putting. They managed to make the milk excessively watery while hinting at what was supposed to be coffee. If you’re a coffee enthusiast, steer clear of this, but if you prefer your coffee with the texture of diluted pond water, then this was made for you. Now, onto the meal itself. Imagine vermicelli depicted in emoji form—yes, that’s how I felt after eating it. As a former overweight child, I already struggle with guilt over indulging, and I certainly don’t need my empty calories adding to the shame. In conclusion, I won’t be returning here. However, I do encourage others to give it a try if only to cleanse their palate and appreciate more flavorful vermicelli elsewhere."

"Legend. Absolute legend. I really don 't want to blow up my spot, but these guys are too good to not write up about. This is my favorite Thai place in Seattle. I 'm just so impressed with the food scene here in these recent years and Bangkok truck is actually a big part of that. 1. Flavor. Comfort. The Pad See Ew is just the perfect combination of sweet, umami, salty, depth. The veggies always have the perfect texture too. The spicy noodles are a pad see ew thicker Noodle, but less sweet. It 's so freaking good. Pad Thai is such a good balanced flavor of sweet, salty, little sour, just so good. Their special, ka pao gai Kai Dao, or minced chicken over rice and egg is really tasty. Just like my parents used to make me for lunch. Again, so much comfort. 1.5 Oh and spice. You can customize the spice level, but for maniacs like me, this place and Chengdu are the spiciest in Seattle imo (if you ask for it--if you don 't like spicy just order not spicy haha. I can be crying and breathing fire and flames at spicy level 4 or 5, but be so blissfully happy because there 's so much FLAVOR in all the dishes. (There 's also more reasonable spicy at 2 or 3, I recommend those to be honest, but sometimes your girl is drunk next door at Hellbent and she wants a kick in the pants. You know how she goes. 2. Quick, convenient. You can order pick up via yelp/grubhub or walk up and it 's made to order in minutes. So good. Hellbent has a rotation of fun food trucks, but my first choice is always and forever Bangkok truck. Like, why would you settle for less? They close at 8 tho, so make sure you don 't lose track of time. 3. Service. The guy working the truck is always the nicest guy ever. Seriously, so friendly and welcoming. His stuff gets vandalized and broken all the time, but he 's always there to welcome you with a smile. If you look at the picture, you can see that someone busted his sign the night before, but like always, he smiles at you and makes you the dankest comfort food to heal your soul. A small business truly, truly deserving of your support! 4. And to top it off, the prices are super reasonable for the quality and flavor (under $15 range . I really cannot express how grateful I am for these guys!"
