"One star review is NOT for food- food is delicious NOT for service-service was on point. Staff is very friendly and food is on point. The one star review is because I found out that they do not give thier servers their tips. I was almost not going to write this for fear that someone would lose thier job. But I think it 's important for patrons to know that when they eat in and tip...it 's most likely not being paid out to thier server. I will explain what happened and you can decide what to make of it. I did not have cash on me. I noticed that our server was working really hard and that they were very adept and efficient with bringin the food and cleaning up after the tables (yes, they were waiting and bussing tables, too) so I thought to myself, it 's the holidays, I 'd like to give them a really nice cash tip. So, I asked him, if I tip you on my credit card will they give it to you at the end of the night or will it go in your paycheck? The server replied, oh no , I was like, umm, huh? you don 't get the tip if i add it on my credit card?? I was confused but thought, that 's weird, I 'll just give him cash. I then responded to him and said, ok well then I will go home and get cash(I live 2 blocks from there) and bring it you..you can keep it right?? to which he replied, oh no we don 't get paid like that ummmmmmmm wtf I thought. So then I reitterated because I wanted to make sure I understood clearly, so if i give you cash, you wont get it?? he finally replied with a smile, no, but thank you so much . I was infuriated and immediatly felt the shade of this spot. I can not prove that the owners are taking tips from staff. What I WILL say is that I know this grimey practice is not uncommon in the restaurant business. Please make sure you are not making shady owners rich while thier staff is working really hard and getting the bare minimum. I truely hope I am wrong."
