"We were looking for a venue for a family gathering, and so many options either had a lovely setting with mediocre food or excellent food but uncomfortable surroundings. Balboa has managed to strike the perfect balance, offering a beautiful and comfortable dining room along with food that is truly a delight for the palate. The ambiance was calming, beautifully adorned with chafing dishes, white tablecloths, and flowers.
The staff was incredibly gracious and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure that everyone was well taken care of. The American dishes were top-notch, while the Caribbean options were simply scrumptious. The salmon was fresh, moist, and perfectly seasoned, while the oxtails had everyone coming back for seconds. Even the vegetables were freshly cut and well-prepared.
I only discovered this restaurant three weeks ago, despite growing up in Crown Heights. Balboa is truly a hidden gem in Brooklyn, located near Medgar Evers College. I can confidently say that it’s one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Excellent, excellent, excellent!"
