"Celebrated my mother's birthday at Aquavit with the Chef's tasting menu, and couldn't have picked a better place. Having enjoyed Aska several months before, I found the experience here more traditional Scandinavian and just as fantastic. The yellowtail and scallop were incredibly fresh, the lamb was perfectly cooked (my mother has high standards for lamb and was impressed), the king crab was absolutely exquisite, and even the potato croquettes were mind-blowing. And as hyped as it is by people who frequent Aquavit, the Arctic Bird's Nest somehow exceeded expectations, aesthetically and flavor-wise. Even though I was incredibly stuffed at the end of the meal, I still found this quite possibly the greatest dessert dish I've ever had. To top it all off, Chef Emma Bengtsson was incredibly kind to take time out of running the kitchen and greet us, chat, and take pictures. Truly a wonderful culinary experience, Aquavit perfectly encapsulates what is to be expected of fine dining, and is absolutely worthy of its 2 Michelin stars.
