"Always a good choice. Great margaritas and unique dishes. Carnitas seems to have changed - I didn't care what the wet sauce was on top of. It dampened the carnitas. The service was somewhat inattentive during this visit."

"Truly fine food served in a very professional manner at an historic setting. A walk through the grounds and seeing the historical pictures are a must. When we entered the Garden Patio there was a smoke from a decorative fire that was taken care of when we commented as we were seated. The food served was perfectly created and each of four different requests were thoroughly enjoyed."

"This restaurant is quite expensive, and I'm not sure if I was charged for additional items since I didn't receive a receipt. Some of the food was excellent, while others were just average. The michelada seemed underfilled, as the mug was only about three-quarters full. We had to wait a long time for service, but once we did, our server did a fantastic job. The kids really enjoyed their French fries and chicken nuggets, and the agua de horchata was particularly delicious."

"I was visiting from Brooklyn and had an absolutely amazing meal at El Patron. Its a new restaurant in Poughkeepsie but it is truly unique, excellent and very well priced Mexican food that I will make a permanent stop whenever I travel North in the Hudson Valley. I love this place and am so happy I found it! Maybe I can convince them to expand to Brooklyn.... My friends tell me this restaurant specializes in Oxacan Mexican cuisine. I don 't know that I 've ever been to a restaurant specializing in this region, but it was certainly a little different than your everyday Mexican fair and it made me very interested in learning more. Mexican food is my favorite cuisine, but I don 't usually get much variety in a menu. Here they had many dishes I 'd never encountered before that used cactus leaves (turned out to be delicious! , fried oxacan cheese, and grilled jalapenos in interesting ways. Even the small salad that came with my meal was a fresh spin they gave me fresh lime and oil instead of 'oil vinegar ' and it was absolutely delicious. "Far from authentic Mexican food. The quality of the rice seemed like instant rice, no flavor, no seasoning. The burritos were even worst. Please go back to your drawing board and find a real chef with Mexican-American experience. My dinner experience wasruined. smh."

"The hostess seemed to be really unhappy in her role. On the other hand, the waitress was pleasant and attentive. Unfortunately, the food was awful! The chips were stale and no salsa was provided, though the guacamole was acceptable. I ordered the carne asada medium rare, but it was overcooked, and the mole sauce tasted like Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. The pork belly tostadas were also disappointing; the tostadas were stale, and the pork belly lacked any texture—just mushy with no crispness at all. I can't recommend this restaurant, and the prices are surprisingly high for such poor quality. Definitely not worth it."

"We recently put in a catering order for a funeral. The food was ready on time, hot, and delicious. Our guests RAVED about how delicious it was. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we wanted--even if it wasn't a “typical” menu item.
