"Finally, I've found a place in Waikiki where I can enjoy Tonkatsu without needing a reservation. I visited this morning and liked it so much that I came back for lunch. I ordered the fried rice plate from the breakfast menu, and I overheard the chef confirming my order with a “Tonkatsu.” It seems you can order lunch items for breakfast too! I enjoyed the entire fried rice plate without taking a picture, but I loved the fried eggs on top.
This Tonkatsu is nothing like what you find in a mall food court; it’s beautifully presented along with salad and rice that’s seasoned with sesame. You can really appreciate the chef's attention to detail just by tasting the salad dressing.
The eatery is cozy and a bit hidden from the street, but the service is excellent, and the quality of the food preparation is top-notch. I just returned from Japan, and the food here reminds me of the incredible dining experiences I had there.
