"I made a reservation for 5:45 PM, but when we arrived, there was no table ready for us. Instead, we were seated on a bench next to each other, which felt quite awkward. We waited for about 10 minutes before the server came to take our order. My drink finally arrived 5 minutes later, but the food took over 45 minutes to come out. To make matters worse, the appetizers came out alongside our main meals, creating a bit of chaos. I definitely wouldn't recommend dining here on a night when there's a hockey game unless you arrive at least 3 hours in advance."

"Had a short lunch today on the road back from vacation. Iced tea was splendid and fresh. Got a turkey sandwich, they went really conservative on the garlic butter which made it a touch dry, but nothing some sweet bbq sauce couldn't fix. Got a side of fried squash, which was as good as I remember and in a generous portion. Service was prompt and friendly. I know I'm about 10 years too late for this, but I would really prefer the toast to be texas toast with sesame seeds instead of the square sandwich bread. I miss the old days."

"Food was great and service.was excellent, UNTIL ....THE OWNER showed up! He was so rude and unprofessional. I knew more about his business and his employees than was EVER my business. Maybe it was because I was raised right, by a military vet, but MR., you praise in public and correct in private The whole atmosphere of the restaurant changed when he showed up. He has great employees, in spite of the way he acts in front of customers. Next time I go through Lake Wales from the other coast we won't be stopping at what used to be one of our favorites ?"

"The barbecue at this restaurant is excellent! They offer a feast for two for just $23.99, which includes BBQ spare ribs, chicken, and pork. "We visited Woodys for the first time today. It was very random. I wanted baby back ribs but they didn't have any. 15 minutes later I heard the cashier take an order on the phone where she repeated the baby back rib special aloud. I didn't say anything. I had ordered the spare ribs lunch which was about $13. I received 3 fatty spare ribs. The fries were tasteless and super old and the waitress could see that just as I could as some were brown but had the nerve to tell me they make them fresh. It's just crazy we had to have several sentences exchanged when you can look and see they were DEAD! They replaced with golden brown and hot fries, still were not good but she said they had gotten the wrong ones in. The ribs were too fatty to enjoy and most places clean them up before cooking and serving. The beans were just ok. We didn't really like any of the sauces but settled for the sweet. My husband had the all you can ear chicken. The first plate was dry but subsequent plate was better. His okra was the best thing we had, but in asking the upcharge I asked what the amount was , was it $1 just guessing and she said yes. He got two orders and we were charged $1.99 for the upcharge each. I asked her about that and she just said yes that's right. I was just like ok.... We found flavor lacking in all the food other than okra. Not sure if they are catering towards a certain crowd but I hate having to put salt on all of my food... chicken, tasteless fries, beans etc. Not sure if I'll make it to try the baby backs or not worried they don't trim and clean the meats like I'm used to, I've never seen that before, but if I do I'll stick to that and the okra. The service was really good though other than the price error. When we walked in the lady in drive-thru greeted us warmly and it didn't take long for the server to arrive. I want to do 3 stars for this but the food was just not good to us."

"Overall, our experience at this restaurant was good. We ordered the sampler, which included garlic mushrooms, mozzarella sticks, corn nuggets, and onion rings – all of which were really enjoyable. We also tried the Okra, which was delicious. Our main entrees included Woody’s Taste with sides of macaroni, green beans, and a Caesar salad. The macaroni was okay, the green beans were tasty, and the salad was fantastic. The Woody’s Taste was all good, with the standout being the cut pig alongside the chicken. However, I found the brisket to be lacking in flavor, and the sausage and ribs were just average. We also ordered a children's meal, and our total bill came to $80, which was reasonable considering the amount of food we received. The sweet tea was excellent, and the owner was incredibly kind and supportive of her staff."

"This restaurant is fantastic! I visited on a Saturday at 2 PM, and it was surprisingly empty, which is hard to believe. The waitstaff were friendly, and my food came out quickly and was spot on. There are three TVs showing football and baseball, all with the sound on, and one even featuring the football mix. Everything I ordered arrived as requested, and the menu prices are very reasonable, especially for lunch. I will definitely be returning!"
