"Delicious Thai food! This is the best takeout I've ever had. The vegetables are fresh, and the flavors are amazing. Over the past year, I've tried all the Thai vegetarian dishes and several seafood options too. As a food lover, I think Golden Empire is a fantastic choice for reliable, fresh, and satisfying takeout. Ordering online is super easy. I haven't tried the Chinese food, and I’ve never dined in, so I can’t speak to those experiences. The gentleman is very friendly, but the lady doesn’t smile much."

"We Love Chef Chan's. We discovered Chef Chan's shortly after moving to Spring. We love the food here. It is not traditional Chinese food, but is instead the Americanized versions. Never the less, everything that we have tried on the menu is excellent! Our favorites are the orange chicken, sesame chicken, beef with broccoli, and many more. They used to have a sesame orange chicken that we loved too, and they will still make it for us if ordered. The wife goes nuts for their crab puffs. We no longer live in the area, and anytime that I travel to Houston I have to stop at Chef Chan's and get her an entree and about 3 orders of crab puffs that I freeze before heading home."

"I consistently have issues with the food, regardless of what I order. The delivery drivers are rude and often don't get out of their vehicles. They tend to overcharge in order to receive a tip. The store may quote one price, but the drivers will add an extra $5. I will never return to this restaurant; their fries are as hard as a rock."

"I don't get the hype. We've tried this place twice and weren't impressed either time. The first shot, the general Tsao's chicken was so salty it was inedible but the shrimp toast and rangoons were good. We decided to give it another shot, but the second time the shrimp toast was all but burnt, the grab rangoons were over-fried, and the chicken lo-mein was absolutely drenched in soy sauce. My daughter usually eats anything put in front of her but she would not finish the lo-main from First Wok. Unfortunately, we won't be ordering from here going forward."

"This is one of my favorite Chinese food places near our house.  The food is always fresh, tasty and a great price.  I order it to go mostly.  They do not deliver, which is the only thing I don’t like about this place.  Yet the food is good enough to get me off my lazy bum to pick it up.  I ordered the large shrimp lo mein this go around and a large wonton soup.  I intended to share this meal with my husband.  I ate about a 1/3 of the lo mein and it was amazing!  Fresh and very flavorful with large shrimp.  I almost ordered the shrimp fried rice (my husband’s favorite) but it tends to have a ton of onions in it and he hates onions.  I always feel a jerk asking for no onions in fried rice."

"Just got lunch. Ribs, meaty, wonton soup, very nice soup base, wonton ok, nothing special, shrimp/lobster sauce pork fried rice, wish it had more pork. (wanted old style Cantonese version, but only 1 place left in Bronx that does it. This was close) Side order of white rice. Quality of both rices excellent. Spring rolls out-of-this-world tasty. quick pleasant service. Very clean place. Good portions. Will definitely be back to try other dishesVegetarian options: Budda delite, steamed veggies"

"I ordered Special Red Curry Chicken (TL8 for lunch today and I was shocked beyond words at the sight of it . There were only 4 small pieces of chicken in the soup with tomato and green pepper .I was surprised. I ordered curry and I expected real curry. But it was a soup and the thinnest soup ever. Moreover the rice included was almost half the normal size given in other Chinese restaurants. The taste is nothing remarkable. I paid $8.50 for that. I could not understand that how can they sell like this in New York City where there is no dearth of quality lunch at reasonable prices .I suppose this is cheating the customers. I took the picture of chicken soup to show my co-worker and she also surprised. Compare to the other restaurants around this area, their portion is significantly small. The question is how can they do business in New York City? Never again."

"I've lived in this neighborhood for 10 years but I only started eating here pretty regularly (couple times a month anyway) in the last year or so. It's surprisingly good for a neighborhood take out place. Good fried chicken, roast pork, shrimp and Chinese vegetables, dumplings, etc. I mean it's not the best Chinese restaurant in New York but for a neighborhood place it's pretty good. And they have been here for I think she said like 30 years."
