My wife, who is Puerto Rican but has never connected with that side of her family, was truly touched by the experience. It was our first time trying Puerto Rican cuisine, as we're from the Midwest, and we sampled a variety of dishes. I can honestly say that everything was fantastic, but our absolute favorite was the mofongo. We loved it so much that we went home and started making it ourselves!
