"The hotel manager was very nice, but he and the staff member assisting him were having a tough day because many of their cleaning staff didn't show up. Having just one person to prepare the rooms wasn't ideal. My sister arrived first and ended up cleaning the bathroom herself. It was nice and recently updated, but it lacked a place to hang clothes after a shower.
Our room had a back door that had a one-inch gap at the bottom, so we stuffed a garbage bag under it to keep out the cold air. It seemed like the back of the door needed repairs, as it was worn out. This motel is definitely a work in progress in terms of renovations. Additionally, there were not enough outlets for charging devices, so I would recommend bringing a power strip.
On a positive note, the hotel is pet-friendly, which I appreciated, and coffee was available in the office. We felt the prices were a bit steep, but I guess we were helping to cover the renovation costs. Our room was warm, thanks to a new space heater, but the window blinds were too large and did not provide proper privacy, as there were no drapes. Some of the plastic slats were also broken. I would also suggest having a fire extinguisher in each room for safety.
Overall, I enjoyed the town and its scenery. I would consider booking again, but my brother-in-law wasn't impressed and said he would rate it a minus five."
