"Had breakfast here this morning with my grandma and kids, and it was such a great experience! The food was amazing—everything tasted homemade, and you could tell they use fresh ingredients. I had the chilaquiles, and they were SO good. The tortillas were homemade, and everything had that perfect balance of flavor, like a real home-cooked meal. Service was great too—super friendly and welcoming. Definitely a solid little spot for good, fresh Mexican food. Will be back for sure!"

"I stopped by for lunch today and ordered the Puffy Taco plate, while the people I was with enjoyed the Tacos Callejeros plate. The food was fantastic! My tacos were delicious, and being in the town that invented the 'Puffy Taco,' I can confidently say they were amazing. The beef and chicken were seasoned to perfection, and the taco shell was just the right thickness—neither too thick nor greasy. The homemade corn tortillas were a delightful surprise. The street tacos were equally impressive, overflowing with meat. Both the Asada and Pastor were well-seasoned, and the addition of grilled onions added a lovely flavor; once again, the tortillas were impeccable. I was pleasantly surprised by how great the charro beans were—it’s something I’ll remember as the weather gets colder; a warm bowl of beans will be just what I need to warm up!"

"Patty and her catering crew prepared the food for my annual 4th of July Annual family picnic and set up as well as tore down the meal setup at my home. My wife and I were totally delighted with the taste, quantity and quality of all the food. The price was extremely reasonable. Chef Tom did an outstanding job. My guest were absolutely delighted with the food and complimented spread. No doubt Patty and Tom will be doing my Holiday catering from now and onward. Thank you Chaparritas for an outstanding job. "No complaints. Ordered a family size meal for a birthday get together. Got a pound of brisket with beans, potato salad, and fries. Brisket was just right not too fatty/greasy and not too lean. Sides were good. Also got 5 chicken tenders. The bread was very moist! The BBQ sauce was very average and standard for Bill Miller's. This was probably enough food to feed about 4 5 for about $30. Not bad. This location didn't seem overly busy but I might have came after the lunch rush."

"REALLY good tacos! Tiny little place, almost no parking in front, but they have a handful more in back. They have a drive through, but it is a tight fit for full size trucks, and a no-go for dulies. They scratch make everything, so be patient. It is well worth the wait."

"This restaurant is a must-visit and incredibly delicious! For the past 12 years, I have always made it a point to come to San Antonio for training and have always enjoyed Tex Mex cuisine. This restaurant is hands down the best I have ever had. The staff were extremely friendly and professional. Our server, Paula, was knowledgeable and her warm and genuine interactions made our experience even better. The restaurant was very clean, organized, and efficient. Even if there is a bit of a wait, it is definitely worth it. Trust me!"

"I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The waiter was attentive, communicative, and very patient. The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered a margarita on the rocks, and it was fantastic. The wait time was quite short. Although the bakery next door sells sweet bread, it was closed for the evening. My total bill came to around $25.00, which included a large bowl of tortilla soup and my top-shelf margarita, plus the chips and salsa were complimentary. Overall, this place is an excellent spot to enjoy a meal, especially during the day when the bakery is open."

"Some days everything is just off. After waiting for our table the hostess “accidentally” forgot to seat us so she could seat a party who walking in after us. We got to wait an extra 20 minutes for the privilege to be seated.Four out of five of us got our plates on time. The unlucky fifth person got to wait an extra 10 to 15 minutes for the order to be prepared. Several other people who were seated after us, continued to get served their meals while we continued to wait for our last plate to arrive.The quality of the food was not as good as it was on previous occasions.This restaurant no longer lives up to the reputation it previously had. There are other better options in San Antonio.Your best option might be to just order your food to go. If you do, be sure to check the order carefully before you leave to make sure you actually received all your food."

"I ordered the Santa Ana plate, which included an enchilada and fajitas, served with rice and beans. I also got the chips and queso, which I really enjoyed. The queso here is great! However, I found some of the chips to be a bit chewy and they seemed under-fried. The cheese enchilada was just okay. Next time, I’ll check to see if they have ranchero beans available. The rice was delicious, and the fajitas were good as well. I visit often and have noticed that the quality of the fajitas can vary with each visit. Overall, I usually have a positive experience."
