"This restaurant specializes in Shandong cuisine from northeastern China and Korean dishes. The menu clearly indicates whether each dish is Chinese or Korean. Shandong cooking is distinct from other regional cuisines like Cantonese or Sichuan, using different spices and cooking methods, with less emphasis on sauces and minimal sugar and salt.
One of the standout offerings is their Jajangmyeon, a traditional Korean noodle dish made with chewy wheat flour noodles similar to udon, originally created by early Chinese immigrants in Korea. What sets this restaurant apart is that their version includes fresh shrimp, enhancing both the dish and the broth.
While the presentation of the dishes may not be exceptional, the focus is on the quality of the ingredients, especially the meat's cut, color, and flavor. This is the only restaurant I know of in San Francisco that offers both Shandong Chinese and Korean cuisine."
