"We just moved to Seminole Heights and have been slowly exploring the restaurants in our new neighborhood. Mortar and Pestle is a unique coffee bar slash bar with craft beer and wine on tap. The menu focuses mostly on smoked meats including pork, brisket, and chicken. We tried the smoked sampler and it was delicious! You got to try a little bit of everything and the portions for two people was enough for a meal . The flavors were so yummy and the sauce deliciously complimented the meat with a little bit of sweetness. The wings and brisket were my favorites. The potato salad and cole slaw samplers cut the heaviness of the meats well. It was a perfectly balanced appetizer! We added the cheese plate and smoked veggie sandwich to even out the savoriness. The best part of the cheese board was the naan they served it with- grilled and warm and soft. The veggie sandwich was unique with a smoked portabella mushroom as its base. The hummus had a bit of spice to it and was so delicious. The atmosphere embodies the modern industrial vibe so well. The decor alone is worth the trip for a coffee or beer at the bar!"
