"I have no idea why I haven 't been to Griddle and Greens more often! I blame my husband...that 's usually a safe bet. : Regardless of why, I 'm so happy to have rediscovered them! They 're within walking distance to us and they have tons of fresh options. They also have melts and several other hot item categories...there 's something for everyone. Their menu allows you to 'Build Your Own ' salads, wraps and melts. They also offer many signature creations. There is more than enough to chose from...and although the choices may feel overwhelming at first, I think the extensive menu works well for a casual takeout lunch spot. I chose the Tunacious D signature salad for $9.95; which is even lower than the price of salads at our corner store...and the ingredients were far fresher and more generous! It included romaine, a scoop of tuna salad, tomatoes, pickled jalapenos and shaved parmesan with house made ranch dressing. It sounded like a really unique, clever and delicious combination of ingredients; and it was! My salad experience gave me enough confidence in Griddle and Greens that I will be returning very soon, and probably very frequently. With all the interesting signature menu items and possible customizations, I could eat here everyday and not get tired of it for a long time! I love this place and I want to move in upstairs so that I 'm even closer. Thank you for being so great, Griddle and Greens!"

"Rudy's Tacos is a Quad Cities institution, one that I enjoy more now that I've moved back to the area. When growing up, I don't think I ever made it over to this location in the Village. Since I was already in the area on this particular night and wanted tacos, I decided this was the opportune time to stop in visit this Rudy's. The interior is to the style one would expect from visiting other Rudy's tacos locations. The walls are light beige in most locations, evoking a pseudo adobe sort of look. This pairs well with wood fixtures and ceiling supports, which are a stained dark color. The lighting is supplied by a combination of accent lighting and suspended ceramic fixtures, the overall effect of which is low, comfortable lighting throughout the space. In short I like the look that Rudy's has developed. I sat at the bar to eat some tacos alone. Shortly after sitting down, the bartender gave me a menu and made me my requested drink, a Tanqueray and Tonic. The drink was perfect exactly what I wanted and needed in a Gin Tonic. I ordered and quickly received four street tacos, two made with pork, two of steak, all with corn tortillas. These tacos were fantastic! I'd only ever had hard shell American tacos from Rudy's before, which are always great. I would, however, come back to eat these street tacos over and over again. They were fresh and light all at once and everything I otherwise would want out of a simple street taco. If I were to return to the Village of East Davenport, I would go to this Rudy's again. Thanks for being a great part of the Quad Cities, Rudy's!"
