"Should really be 3 stars, but the attentiveness of the manager raised it to 4. Another Chicago Passport book recommendation. The place is small but beautiful, really liked the decor and the second floor balcony area. The corner location gives a nice view of Michigan ave. We ordered some drinks and appetizers. My first choice of drink, which had jalapeño in it they didn’t have. Bad sign there, ordered an old fashion and a blood orange Manhattan. Both drinks were weak, the garnish on the old fashion was what looked like an eaten orange slice, my Manhattan used regular oranges. Both drinks didn’t taste good, almost no liquor. The appetizer was the Lebanese dish, the bacon wrapped dates were excellent, though they were quickly overshadowed by the dry hard falafel. Our dishes came out, and although they tasted good the outer edges of the dish was cold. The center was hot and even steam was coming off it, but the food on the edge of the dish was starting to cool off. I notified the manager, I asked if the food was pre-prepared and then microwaved, said no all is made from scratch. The only thing I could think was that our food was ready and sat on the counter until our waiter brought it out. I asked if they had warming lights to keep dishes warm, he said no. Now the actual food had a good taste and seasoned well, it was just cold. They did make it up to us, by giving us an extra side of sautéed veggies and a baclava on the house, which again was delicious. But I don’t think we are going back, nor do I recommend the place."

"We wanted authentic Mexican food and this place had high reviews. It was a few blocks from Downtown Phoenix with a moderately large parking lot. You can dine inside with table service or you can call and pick up as by picking up only parking at the entrance. At the entrance you can see the kitchen area in sight, there are several tables that you can sit at and when small bar can sit in the corner. The music was good that I wanted to dance (LOL ; but must have been on a loop as we heard twice in the hour we have eat dinner. We just managed to enjoy the last 5 minutes of happy hour. I chose a traditional margarita that was surprisingly delicious and not too brownish. The Hubby has a corona. The children got horchatas that were really good and seemed to have free refills. The bathrooms: are locked as they are for customers only per sign on each bathroom. The bathroom of women was very clean and good with real toilet paper and not the rough commercial toilet paper. Food / meals: The children shared a bean burrito made from real flour tortilla (approx. 14 and not bought a thick ameeican store, the beans were delicious, they used white cheese that was great. The hubby got carne asada afteros that came with three different types of tortilla chips (red spicy yellow corn blue corn, pinto beans, pico de gallo, jalapeños, acid cream, white melted cheese guacamole. In an attempt to stay away from the Carbs, I joined the menu called a Carne asada shell. In the end it was not a bowl and was a cup of unwiss red rice with about 1/2 cup of equally unfortunate Carne Asada, Guacamole pico de gallo, which was served on the inner circle of a nine inch plate. I added some salt to it a little more taste and that helped a bit. Total $40... definitely not bad. The service: we only saw two boys cook in the back and a young woman who was our waitress. She usually seemed to speak Spanish, but now and then we would tell her something in English. She was very friendly and patient with the children."
