"When I arrived in Marion on Tuesday, I visited the shop to discuss how I wanted the lettering positioned on the cake, since I planned to place the fresh flowers on it when I picked it up on Thursday. However, when I arrived to collect the cake on Thursday, I was pleased with its presentation but surprised to see the writing was in black. I realized I should have specified the color, as I never imagined black would be chosen for a woman’s cake. Despite that, I made the best of it and added my fresh flowers.
As for the cake itself, it was extremely dry and not moist at all. There was barely any strawberries or frosting between the layers, so when we sliced it, the layers fell apart. My mother mentioned she didn’t see any strawberries, while I noticed only a few scattered throughout.
The next day, I texted Renee to share my feedback. I offered constructive criticism on the cake's quality and hoped she wouldn’t take it as an insult to her bakers, but rather as an opportunity for improvement. Unfortunately, I didn't receive any response from her.
Interestingly, while at the Dripolator coffee shop in Black Mountain yesterday, a barista shared her own experience with Chance of Sprinkles, mentioning her cake was also extremely dry.
I genuinely hope the owner takes this review as constructive feedback and considers adjusting her cake recipes. It’s important for businesses to communicate with customers, regardless of the feedback received, as it can foster growth and improvement."
