"Knew it as soon as we walked in, we had been here once before, for a going away cocktail party, but did not recall the name. From the name, Colleary 's, (me thinking that 's Irish) you would not suspect that the food is Italian, and very good Italian at that. There are a few good Italian restaurants in the area, including our fav. In our family the test of a good Italian place is the lasagna, and if they have Osso Bucco and is it lamb or veal. Well lets just say, Passed the Test, with flying colors. I had the chicken risotto that was cooked perfectly. I make this myself, but never seem to be able to cook the rice correctly, so I was a little surprised when it had a bit of tomoato sauce . We ordered an Osso Bucco (veal) for the table and we all dug in. I started with the stuffed mushrooms, lightly topped baby bellas with very finely ground hot sausage and a delicate buerre blanc. Cesar Salad was nice and refreshing, crisp lettuce and just the right touches of garlic and parm in the dressing. The other pasta dishes that our guests had were very, very good. Not your grandmother 's spaghetti and meatballs. Really nice variety and something for everyone. The birthday boy got dessert, complementary, which he graciously shared (there was quite enough), a decadent chocolate fudge cake, very dense, thick layers of cake and fudge and ganache, with a drizzle of caramel and bittersweet chocolate sauces. Remember the owner is of Rockwell 's fame. Definately going back. In fact, Colleary 's may very well be the go to spot. We 're luck in the City of Orange to have some amazing restaurants. Glad we stumbled upon this one."

"Disclaimer: I am not receiving any kickback or payment for this review.)My wife and I visited Saturday night. Our reservation was at 6pm. The hostess took us to our table without menus. After 5minutes or so, a waitress, different from the one mentioned to us by the hostess arrived for our drink order. We asked to see a wine list. It was then she realized we didn’t have any menus. The hostess returned with the menus a few moments later. We ordered a bottle of wine, two appetizers, two entrees and two desserts. The lamb lollipops were the best part of our meal. Tender, cooked perfectly. The other appetizer, Arancini essentially deep friend cheese balls) was just okay. I had the Signature dish- the Chalkboard Beef Wellington. It was not served with a steak knife. It was tender and cooked well, but it was also very small for the price 4oz) for $52. It was paired with tough not Al dente) asparagus and overcooked, but tasty, orzo. My wife was really craving a burger, which she felt was solid. She was happiest about her sweet potato fries. The bottle of wine was good. The desserts, huckleberry ice-cream and bread-pudding were fine, but forgettable. Foodwise, this place, from our experience was just “OK”. As mentioned, it was a Saturday night, so I did not want to send anything back. In addition, this place felt very cramped. And the vibe of the crowd that night felt more like a TGIFriday happy hour. LOUD. If that is the scene you are into, this place might be perfect. But for my wife and I, we wanted a quiet dinner together. From what I saw, this place can not guarantee that. We did appreciate the fresh flowers and candles on each table. Take away. The food for the price is not worth it. $270 for two people after tax/tip). The staff seemed to be spread way too thin. The atmosphere is for groups/friends/gatherings, and not a quiet, romantic dinner."
