"We were excited when it first opened but have witnessed a noticeable decline since the current owner took over. We’ve endured unfriendly service and even overbaked patties. In my effort to support my fellow Jamaicans, I initially brought up the issue of the overbaked patties in hopes of improvement, but to no avail.
I then thought I could still help by purchasing the patties frozen and baking them myself. Unfortunately, that experience was a disaster. The owner clumped all three dozen patties together, wrapping them in parchment paper, and stuffed them into an old Ziploc bag with a broken zipper, tossing everything into a shopping bag. She rushed me out the door, stating that I needed to freeze them immediately because they were soft. I even had to wait while she served two other customers before she retrieved my order from the back freezer—she clearly didn’t want to make the trip.
When I asked for the foil pan they typically come in, she informed me that it’s only available when she bakes them at the restaurant. The only reason I didn't order them pre-baked this time was because my last batch came out overdone, hard, and nearly inedible.
Once I got home, I promptly placed the patties in the freezer. This morning, I discovered them frozen in a clumped mess. After an hour of trying to separate them for baking, I was frustrated. I’ve baked patties successfully many times before, including from Hammonds in Miami, so I know it can be done right.
I am sharing this review so others do not mistake this location as typical of Jamaican restaurants. I hope corporate takes notice and ensures this franchise meets Golden Krust’s standards."
