"I ordered the C21 Salt and Pepper Chicken, which tasted as if it had been sitting out for days or deep-fried for hours. It was inedible and disgusting; I managed to eat about six bites before throwing the rest away. The N13 Pan Fried Noodle was even worse—there were literally six pieces of meat, each no larger than 2x2, that seemed either pounded or shredded until unrecognizable. It also included one tiny, shriveled shrimp, two small half-broccoli pieces, two water chestnuts, four tiny pieces of canned baby corn, one sliver of mushroom, and maybe an ounce of Udon-like noodles that were meant to be fried and coated in sauce but ended up half-raw. The sauce tasted bland with an overwhelming amount of salt. I barely finished a saucer-sized portion before tossing the rest out—I wouldn’t even give it to my dogs; it made me feel nauseous, and I'm genuinely concerned about what kind of meat I just consumed.
Next, I tried the A9 Crab Rangoon, which had nothing resembling crab or any crab flavor. Instead, it was overwhelmed by a sour onion taste that hit me unpleasantly with every bite; it should have been called "French Onion Rangoon." The A2 Egg Roll was filled entirely with cabbage and contained no meat. I didn't even see an option to request meat. It was ridiculously bland, soaked in grease, and I couldn't finish half of it.
As for the A8 Fantail Shrimp, it was the only thing I could manage to eat, simply because I was so hungry, but it was shrimp that seemed to be battered like a corn dog or beer-battered fish. I’ve never encountered fried shrimp served this way, and I definitely wouldn't order it again, although I ended up eating the whole thing.
I may just be an average guy, but after growing up in Ann Arbor and often visiting Windsor and Toronto for authentic Chinese cuisine—and even dating someone from Hong Kong for three years—I get that this is American Chinese food. Unfortunately, this place gives that a bad reputation. I usually don't take the time to post negative reviews, but I've never been to Panda Express, and I can only imagine it would be a better experience than this."
