"Perhaps not as fancy as the nearby restaurants and delis, Evergreen is a pleasant, classic, diner-style restaurant. There are deep booths for private conversations, open tables for a more lively dining experience, and a small lounge area near the front window where students from nearby Loyola University and other patrons can read newspapers or work on their laptops in peace. The menu includes reasonably priced breakfast items, coffee, sandwiches, and espresso drinks, too. The person staffing the register at mid-morning today was cheerful and helpful to me on my first visit. I belong to a small group that meets one weekday morning each week, and the restaurant is especially accommodating for us. We intend to make this our regular meeting spot."
