"When my food finally arrived, it was brought out from the back without any notification. It was left on top of the oven to stay warm, which isn't appropriate for a salad. The pizza was not crispy, as I had requested. The salad was unappealing, with the lettuce appearing dirty. The eggplant parmigiana was poorly executed, merely featuring roasted eggplant topped with cheese and a sweet tomato sauce, lacking any herbs or seasonings for added flavor. Overall, my experience was disappointing, and I won't be returning. There are plenty of other restaurants that serve better food and offer superior service."

"We had an amazing dinner at Sandro's Italian in Manhasset. The MOZZARELLA IN CARROZZA with spicy Vodka sauce was great. CALAMARI ARRABIATA was nicely spiced aggressively but not overwhelming. BUCATINI CLAMS , house-made pasts with fresh clams, nice combination of beautiful olive oil and butter to give it that texture you get in Rome. Speaking of Rome the Roman classic BUCATINI CARBONARA was executed perfect !! Guanciale was crispy and delicious with nicely fond egg, pepper and cheese sauce. Cannoli was house made crispy shell and delicious filling ! Service was friendly and competent. Overall an experience worth repeating !! Updated 062824 Sandro’s is going strong and still putting out first quality Italian food. Fresh pastas are a well above the local competition as well as the quality fish and meat choices. Tonight I tried something different a On the bone pounded veal cutlet with a spicy vodka sauce and mozzarella with a side of delicious pasta. Our usual Spiedini alla Romana and Calamari were great."

"Danny's is a no nonsense Steps above average perfect stop for pizza and beer when in Bushwick. It is also one of the only places that has pasta slices on the menu and that, as an item, in fact a a meal, for the price, is one hell of a winner. Danny's slices are always well crusted fluffy crisp and big. Staff is always nice and always on point. Will always wanna come back and get that pasta slice."

"Low key Italian restaurant in a popular shopping area. This review is specifically for their lunch. And speaking of lunch, the specials they have are excellently priced for the amount of food they give you. Huge lunch selections. That said, we went around 3pm on a Tuesday. There was only one other table and only one server working at the time. He was patient with answering questions and we didn't feel awkward or rushed. He let me order a lunch sized portion of the Chicken Piccata which wasn't on the menu. Our drinks were kept a full and he was attentive without being overbearing. The food itself is above average but not exceptional. The Chicken Piccata was hot, fresh, and very flavorful. My only issue was that the piece of chicken was very small and thin compared the the amount of pasta that came with it. This was the lunch sized portion so it may be different for dinner. My wife ordered the margarita pizza and if was one of the better ones I've had. Very fresh ingredients. All meals come with garlic rolls which are pretty average but tasty nonetheless. Overall a 5/5 for service and atmosphere and 4/5 for the food. We will back again to try dinner and some desserts. I recommend this place for anyone looking for an affordable Italian lunch."

"This place should be on Gordon Ramsay’s kitchen nightmares the server was so sweet but the food omg. First I saw one of the waiters touch his nose and then go back to cleaning the bar and the food. We ordered lasagna and it was sauce and cheese with the food being very cold in the middle with hot marinara sauce around the lasagna. "Visited Umberto's Pizzaria for dinner while in town for an event. Our server was extremely friendly and helpful with the menu options. He brought out a basket of bread which included garlic knots that were delicious! He even offered to make a sangia which was not on the menu so I naturally accepted. I ordered the red sangria and it came in a large glass with lots of fresh fruit. Very nice! We ordered the buffalo cauliflower arrabiata which was very lightly breaded and coated in buffalo sauce. I ordered slice of pepperoni pizza on regular crust and my friend ordered a slice of pepperoni on grandma's crust. We both enjoyed our pizza and appetizer very much. The sauce reminds me of pizza that I tasted in Italy. We orded canelloni for dessert which was amazing! My friend also took home an order of spaghetti and meatballs and said it was the BOMB!!"

"I was quite disappointed to discover a 3.5% fee for paying with a credit card. It's frustrating that customers are penalized for using a payment method that the restaurant accepts. While the restaurant itself is beautiful and the service was excellent, the overall experience didn't quite match my previous visits. I noticed that some menu prices had increased, but the menu hadn’t been updated to reflect these changes. Although the portion sizes were generous, the salmon I ordered didn’t taste right, and the vegetables were bland—I could hardly tell the eggplant from the zucchini. On a positive note, the squid ink spaghetti was amazing! I also appreciated the nice touch of having cotton candy at the end of the meal."

"Even though they didn’t get my hero right, still giving a four star because the chicken was good. Asked for a grilled chicken hero with sautéed spinach. Now to me sautéed spinach is spinach sautéed in oil and garlic (which would be considered cooked) not just throwing a bunch of fresh spinach on a hero, that is not how I wanted the hero, cooked spinach is what I wanted. You get stupid calls when ordering a Grilled chicken with roasted peppers and mozzarella hero with balsamic vinegar, they call asking if you want roasted peppers and balsamic vinegar on the hero, well if it comes that way I guess that’s how I want it unless noted (even I put it to make sure it’s on there). Ok I know this place is busy, but wake up sometimes and make the order right."

"Tirelesss work horses. I use the equine analogy out of affectionate respect. Out of wonder. The night I was there, it was raining. Biblical. Why mention it? Because wait staff were braving buckets, ferrying dishes empty and full between buildings by way of a narrow sidewalk proving instant showers per inch. I saw their stress and tension teeming down their drenched cheeks framed by rivulets of careworn hair of the evening and felt for them. But it wasn 't that they were victims of a heartless restaurant. I rather got the sense all working shared a common Kingston commitment to quality. One tiny detail? A floating greeter checking on us all delicately with cheery concern. I met Billy Costello 's brother earlier that weekend Billy the pride of Kingston as the national welter weight boxing champion. Half Sicilian and American Indian but every bit a son of Kingston, Billy 's brother exuded pride in doing his job well, a job others depended on him to do well. And so it was with his veritable Kingston sister of spirit that my Savona waitress exuded effort and compassion far more that rain soaked night than you 'd see other places. If I didn 't live in Jersey, I 'd frequent this place weekly both for my divine waitperson and for the towering quality of food. The pains she took after I gently groused about a glass of water arriving too late to help me with my Barrette 's esophagus (which I didn 't mention) was touching. Out she came with a wine box of mind numbingly exotic teas for me to choose from. She wisked out my tea ensuring milk accompanied. She doted on me as to say you should judge me or anyone here by a late arriving glass of water. Judge us by so much more. And so tonight, nights later, I 'm feasting on their veal parmigiana that weathered the trek back and num numming like a happy shark on their doughy bread bordering on pastries for delicacy. And all this is the tapestry of an eatery woven from strands of a caring professional staff, dedicated talented cooks no one sees and their determined diligence to the extra mile right down to finding a bag to carry my belly booty because to jersey like some epicurean pirate. So... go. Go. I won 't further embarrass these exceptional souls by more flattery I 'll leave that to you when you go. One issue: loud. But ....think. Empty eateries are graveyards and thriving dining jewels are cacophonous hives of the contented and sated. This is such a place. And parking out side uses Flowbird!"

"I would like to say I moved to Syosset in 1984. All these years eating at Marios has been wonderful. Since recently with prices exuberant due to inflation I have noticed a change in the quality of food. They used to use fresh ingredients and that is why everything was so delicious. I ordered a mushroom pizza. It was canned mushrooms. Why? You have a large staff in the kitchen and should be able to use and cut up fresh ingredients. The stuffed chicken slice is not what it used to be. My wife always loved it and now is disappointed. We don?t mind the price increases. It is understandable but please don?t change the quality of food. That?s not a good thing and eventually you?re customers will notice. We just want you to know how wonderful it is to have Mario?s as our go to place for great local food. Again price increases are understandable but we still demand the quality you always gave us."
