"I ordered through the Uber app and was let down when the meal I received didn't match the description. The listing suggested it was a dinner meant for 3-4 people, but what I got was a lunch special that hardly fed 2. When I called the restaurant for clarification, the person I spoke to implied it was well-known that the $18 plates were lunch items. I noted that the app didn’t make that clear, but our conversation didn't lead to any resolution. I won’t be ordering from this restaurant again."

"Discrimination/ Bias: I ordered food for delivery from this restaurant today and spoke with a man on the phone. I provided my address and phone number and at no time during that call did the person say that they do not deliver to the apartments in the projects. In fact, we have ordered from them before and the delivery people have brought food right to the door without issue. Today, there seemed to be some issue. The delivery person would not come up and my mother who is elderly and walks with a cane could not come down. She had to wait to call someone in the building or struggle to come herself. A woman from the restaurant called talking very fast and over me (I placed the phone order) saying “we do not come up in the projects, you have to come down.” As I’m trying to explain the situation she continues to yell and say do you want the food or to cancel the food. She continued to yell and not listen to the paying customer. She instead kept repeating the same thing.After telling her that this is rude, and discriminatory, I hung up. I will not order from this establishment again because of the above behavior and because of stereotypes that place simple because someone lives in the projects.If you don’t want to deliver to residents that live in the projects do not put your business in those neighborhoods."

"This restaurant is conveniently located near my workplace. The service is excellent, and the staff is friendly. "I was at Mina's many times for lunch and dinner when they were at a different location. The food was and still is made fresh on site and is delicious. The only difference now is that they moved to a different location and you order online for your meal. Alot of take out orders came in and out of the doors while me and my friend were there. They have a successful business still. Ihad an appetizer called Canor. It is a stuffed baked plantain stuffed with seasoned shredded chicken. Or you can have beef. ThenI had rice and beans with the special sauce and beans to scoop over the rice. I had pull seasoned pork that was delicious. Theappetizer kind of filled me. I ate a small portion of my rice and beans and took rest of my food home. My friend had rice nbeans and some kind of seasoned pork and chicken. He had soda I had water. I loved their Flan for dessert yet did not have roomfor it. The bill came to $45 and I gave a $5 tip. Right next door to Mina's is and Ice cream place called Scoops which is ownedby Mina family. If you love Spanish Homemade food, Mina's is the place to go. Located off of route 32 south heading toward VailsGate from Newburgh. Enjoy !!!"

"With parents in town looking for some frituras on a Saturday evening... we googled and found this spot..decided to check it out. When we came in it smelled just like fresh baked bread. We headed to the counter which has ready to serve food. This food looked like it had been sitting for a long time. Didn't look appetizing so we ordered a la carte. We ordered alcapurrias and a pincho. Sadly, the alcapurrias were so small and thin and the masa had no taste. It had not been seasoned. The pincho looked like it was made a la plancha. It wasn't nice and juicy like a pincho should be. Giving them two stars because the bread we bought was delicious and the food was hot. That's it. I doubt I'll be back."

"I had an amazing experience at Cocina Candela. Making reservations online was very convenient. We were served bread with a delicious herb-garlic butter spread that was divine. For appetizers, we ordered the cheese-stuffed sorullos de maíz and the bacalaitos. They were beautifully presented and tasted even better. My wife enjoyed the shrimp mofongo while I had the Arroz con gandules with pernil. The rice featured smoked ham just like my mom makes it, and each bite reminded me of home. I'm originally from Jersey, but Morovis, Puerto Rico, is in my blood. Many blessings to Cocina Candela; you have a piece of Borinquen for those of us who are far away, like me."

"I called to order pick up and I was told the person on the phone doesn’t speak English if I knew Spanish. Thankfully I do because basically if I didn’t I wouldn’t be able to order dinner. I ordered my food and everything was fine until I got home and realized there were no utensils in the bag for two to go orders and only napkins were provided. I was going to let the language barrier go until the utensils and it kind of set me off.
