"The food was good, the service excellent, the lunch noise acceptable. The only reason the only reasons I didn't give 5 stars is that we were seated at a 2 person table against the north wall right in the traffic pattern and the aisle is just too tight. People were constantly brushing up against my companion. Also, although the server was kind enough to offer a birthday dessert when he found out we were celebrating same, the bread pudding was way over-cooked and we could only eat the center."

"We have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while so tonight we did for a early birthday dinner on a Tuesday evening it wasn't busy so we figured we would get fast service but that was not the case we arrived at 6:20pm we didn't leave until 8:25 not because we wanted to but because our waiter took so long bringing our drinks then appetizers then our main courses the food and drinks were good but not for the price, too much ice in the drinks I figured to make it look like your getting more drink than you really are and their bread pudding was awful that was not bread pudding it was a chocolate cinnamon mush with caramel don't think it was worth 250 for 3 people. We don't mind paying for great food drinks but there needs to be great service as well. So disappointed with this restaurant I really wanted to like it because it is so close to home."

"Overall great experience. Management was on the floor and checked in throughout the night unprompted. You can tell the food is made with quality ingredients by experienced chefs. Additionally, the staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. The presentation of drinks and food are well thought out and notable. The ambience vibe is warm and I appreciate the attention to detail for customer needs, specially the table side purse rack. I would recommend for many occasion."

"I'm leaving this review because my first dining experience was GREEEEAT!! I met up for our Best Friend Catch Up dinner last night. I wasn't sure about this location, but I'm so glad we chose it. I arrived and the valet driver wasn't readily available so I just kind of pulled in and sat there for a few minutes...I figured he was probably just one person parking all the cars since the restaurant didn't seem to be very busy. The night was beautiful and breezy. In fact, I was shocked not to see anyone sitting outside on their beautiful patio... It's a very serene and classy set up. Someone from inside opened the door for me as I walked up and directed me to the host stand where I was quickly seated in the cocktail area. I loved it over there! All the tables have white tablecloths and it's just a very pleasant and mature atmosphere. Not too dark but lit beautifully with soft white string lights added for calming ambiance. Our server suggested the meatballs as an appetizer and they did not disappoint. This appetizer could literally be a meal. It's probably six meatballs on a hot Skillet plate with mashed potatoes and fried onion straws on top. The swedish meatball gravy that it comes with was not too thick and was deliciously seasoned to perfection... A yummy sharable. The bar is close by so we had to have a couple of adult beverages to toast our best friend's dinner. I had prosecco and he had a glass of wine. After that filling appetizer we ordered our entrees. He had the scallops and I had the braised short rib (half order).... I didn't think we could add anything else, but our server insisted on allowing us to taste their signature dessert, bread pudding. He gave us a small sampler serving and I have to say it was perfect Delicious...Whoever made it really put their heart into it! See you soon Federal Grill!"

"I had dinner with my wife and two teen daughters. We all enjoyed an appetizer of Italian nachos, I had a good Greek salad and everyone was very happy with our entrees—lasagna for my wife and oldest daughter and a pasta dish with penne that I can't recall the name of for my other daughter and Asiago encrusted Halibut for me. My daughters can be quite picky, but both were impressed with their food. My halibut was fantastic. Sadly, our dessert experience came up short. They were out of the dutch apple cheesecake my girls both wanted to try so we got creme brûlée and white chocolate bread pudding. The creme brûlée lacked the creamy smoothness it should have and was a bit custard like. The crystalized sugar was slightly too burnt. While you can enjoy creme brûlée even when it's subpar, the bread pudding wasn't worth the effort. It was very bland—the most flavorful part was the whipped topping. While most of the food was excellent and the service was good, the overall experience didn't quite live up to the $150+ tab. In retrospect, I wish I'd asked for a better table; ours was in a busy intersection close to the kitchen and away from the wall of windows overlooking downtown. Instead of a great westward view of the city, I had a candid view of the working side of the bar. While the location and space are good, the ambiance seemed lacking. I have no idea how long this location has been open, but I came away with the feeling they have some kinks to work out before they can offer the experience of the Urbandale location. Despite the great food (desserts notwithstanding), I'd need to have a better overall experience on a second try before I could recommend Sam Gabe's at the Lyons."

"The outside seating is great. It is right on the Potomac River walk. You can see the Kennedy Center and Watergate Building down the river. There is a plaza with a large water fountain. It is beautiful. That’s where it ends. The place is directly under the flight path on planes taking off from Reagan International Airport every 2 minutes. It is so loud that you can’t speak to a person across the table. To top that off we were buzzed by about 15 hot shot government helicopters, which were louder than the plane. This ruined the whole experience. I would not go back. If you like to listen to jets flying less than 1,000 feet above you, then go."

"We enjoyed some beer and savored the food. It was Taco Tuesday, and unable to decide on just one option, I decided to try one of each: beef, shredded chicken, shrimp, and grilled chicken tacos. I think the shrimp taco was my favorite—spicy and topped with jalapeños. If you prefer something milder, the grilled chicken tacos are more like a wrap. The beef taco was delicious too, not the typical street-style shredded beef, but significantly better than many other places I’ve tried. My wife ordered garlic parmesan wings, which she paired perfectly with her beer. By the way, they have 30 beers on tap and even more in cans and bottles. The staff was quick and friendly, and we will definitely return when we’re in the area!"

"great restaurant in downtown raleigh. eating was amazing, especially the special appetizer. it was a Pierogi court with basilikum. I'm not doing it right, but it was great. we loved the atmosphere and our server was excellent. my wife and I brought our 1 year old with us and thought they were a little child-friendly. the brunch menu of the child was misleading in this sight. they had no wind table in the bathroom, but our server was friendly enough to get a tablet for us, which was big enough to keep our child when he needed that inevitable change of wind. that said we went early and the servers were more than accommodating. our child loved eating as much as we did, but we had to hate a retreat as soon as he reaches maximum boredom. it was calm so his try to talk, probably have a few stank eyes. that is the life of a parent."

"We are a regular customer at this restaurant and always rate it a 5. But we were very disappointed in our Mother 's Day meal today! Salad bar was exceptional as usual! 2 of us got salmon and it was good. However, our sons both ordered the filets cooked MEDIUM. Both were cooked medium well but closer to well. Our Server asked if there was anything you just can 't eat? Lol! We said we shared our salmon so no one starved! She said she would let the manager know but it was not her fault because she turned our order in for both to be cooked medium and agreed they were not. They were very busy today and obviously manager had not heard from the server about our experience because as we left I mentioned something to the manager and she just said oh I 'm sorry! Not what I would have expected for a $200 meal but especially for a customer who considers themselves regular and even takes large groups to this restaurant. Huge disappointment in how this was handled more so than the overcooked filets."

"Came highly recommended and the food was delicious. Our server Mariah was not very familiar with the menu, but she was extremely nice considering they were short staffed. It was 2 other servers that were not as nice as she was. One was at front when we walked in and had an attitude from jump about what I don’t know. The next one was Sierra. I guess I got in her way when I got up to ask the table behind me what sushi/tempura roll they had. I did that because our server and 2 ladies from the kitchen weren’t even sure what they were. Go figure… Sierra blew out a loud breath and rolled her eyes before she stalked off… all she had to say was hold on a second let me tend to the table right quick or better yet, just tell me what the rolls were. They way she acted, short staffed or not was uncalled for and rude. Thankfully the customer told me and I ordered them both, in spite of the rude server, but somehow my ticket needed up getting “ misplaced” and appetizers I forgot I ordered cause it took so long came out with them. I kept the rolls, but sent the apps back. I do thank you Mariah and I hope the rude server doesn’t rub off on you. I do hope your business gets more servers, because the food is good but Sierra ruined the atmosphere for me and my sister."
