"This restaurant had an air of pretentiousness. The staff member appeared annoyed by the presence of customers, which may have been due to the fact that I wasn't a local—or perhaps it was simply a slow Monday. Either way, it felt as though I was bothering him by placing my order and asking questions. I can relate to what Andrew H mentioned about the slow service; there was only one employee working with a single panini press. I ended up waiting around 15 minutes for my food and drink while a couple in front of me was served. I ordered an AK chai latte and a southwestern panini. Unfortunately, the chai latte was mostly milk with only a hint of tea, which was quite disappointing, especially since I didn’t realize it until after I had driven away. The panini was decent, though I’ve certainly had better sandwiches in Alaska; it was satisfactory but not exceptional. I also found it frustrating that the menu didn’t describe the sandwiches; had I known mine contained meat, cheese, mayonnaise, and hot sauce, I might have opted for something else. On a positive note, I really liked the ambiance of the place. It was nicely decorated, with interesting artwork and great music. However, based on this experience, I’ll likely skip coming back the next time I’m in Cordova."
