"I typically don't write reviews, but my experience at this restaurant was so unexpectedly negative that I felt compelled to share. The food was okay, but I strongly advise against ordering pickup from here. It appears that they falsely indicate orders as ready to quickly handle busy periods without actually preparing them on time. They won't start making your food until you arrive, and if the person with glasses at the cash register is there, they may give you attitude if you are unsure about the status of your order. I understand that restaurants can get hectic, but this is not an efficient way to manage lunch rushes. As someone who has worked in several food service jobs, I can say that the person at the register was one of the most unwelcoming and rude individuals I have ever encountered at a restaurant. Making sarcastic remarks to customers with valid questions is highly unprofessional. If you can't handle the pressure, maybe you should reconsider working in the hospitality industry."

"Food is great but employees have no common sense. I arrived at 9:20, 40 minutes before they closed. Note that at this time, they were already out of half their ingredients. When I went to tell her my order, she said she was only doing online orders, so I (and the two people who came in after me) had to spend 10 minutes going to the online site, looking over their counter trying to figure out what options were still available and then find it on their app and racing to get it in before the other two customers rather than just taking 30 sec to point at what I wanted. Like, your store?s entire business model is quick, healthy food, that you can see what your grabbing. If I wanted to figure out how to order online, I would?ve just had it delivered, not walked over to your store in person."

"I got the classic dig and it was delicious! Tasted so light and healthy, chicken was so juicy and well seasoned. Im impressed, Im super picky with healthy food and this is one of the few Ive had that didnt taste extra greasy or like "fake healthy". Also got a sweet potato brownie and it was great too. Will definitely be ordering more from you guys"

"Burgers: 5 stars Service: 3 stars what can anyone write more about Shake Shack in Madison Square Park? it’s the OG location, the burgers, fries more are consistently very good; and it’s a great place for low-key casual al fresco dining day or night. use the Shake Shack app to order. headed to the pickup window after waiting past my pickup time and asked about my order. the pickup window person said it was probably not ready, but went back to some screen to see if my order was ready. she returned and then looked at some of the orders that had been sitting there and said “here’s your order” and handed me my bag. looked at the order sticker on my bag and it had been sitting there for 15ish minutes. burger was lukewarm-ish not hot. still tasted very good. never received the “pickup your order” text which you’re supposed to get right before your pickup time. it also seemed like no one was in charge at the order window bc it seemed like different people were calling orders to pickup. i still don’t get why the Shake Shack app doesn’t just have a countdown to your order being ready like other food ordering apps. why isn’t there some sort of big digital screen at the Shake Shack showing what orders are up and in-progress and you just show your receipt or phone screen to get your order? so many other casual and fast food places just use digital screens and the app to show order status. tbh, depending on different staffers in a fast-moving kitchen to call out orders to customers waiting outside is antiquated. if this was some mom-n-pop place I’d understand the lack of innovation but Shack Shack is a legit global chain and this is a iconic location. my Single Shack Burgers tasted very good albeit not very hot. cheese melted. the bun soaked up the burger flavors. the patties were well-seasoned and everything else in the burger else comes together nicely for one satisfying eating experience. the outside trash can was overflowing. gross. not sure if the park is responsible for the trash removal or Shake Shack is but maybe use more trash cans OR have someone empty them hourly. weird."

"The restaurant hasn't improved since last year. I noted during pickup that I wanted to avoid burnt vegetables, but it seems either they don't read the notes or all their sweet potatoes are burnt and unappetizing—I'm not sure which is worse! The cauliflower was bland and looked like it was prepared using the leftovers from a previous batch. The sweet potatoes were also tasteless, and I noticed that some were cooked in canola oil instead of olive oil. If someone is choosing this dish for health reasons, that should definitely be a consideration. Finally, the mac and cheese tasted old and was filled with broth crumbs, giving it a muddy texture. Both the pesto and vinaigrette sauces were extremely sour—thankfully, they were served on the side!"

"This is what you get for a $5 side. It looks like less than half a sweet potato.I see another review/photo from someone else below who also got take out and was surprised with very, very small portions. Our bowls were only half full like theirs We only had ~3-4 small bites of chicken in each bowl."

"The food is delicious ! Every item had flavor in it . Almost nothing I tried was an afterthought. They say they like to cook and it must be true. Reasonable prices too. Also the atmosphere is super chill with natural wood and dim lighting it's a nice spotto chill for a bit. I had the market plate with tofu and roasted carrots and Mac and cheese with farro as a base . The farro hadbutternut squash in it with pieces of celery to be crunchy but also had a flavor, so it wasn't just bland. I ate all of it . TheMac and cheese was a big portion and really good. I recommend everything I had including the tofu. You can ask for a side ofsauce too. I got a very green tasting pesto herb sauce. There's Sriracha in the fridge, you help yourself. I had the red wine ,it's like $7.50 for a little carafe. Pretty good for the price. They have a couple beers too. My friend had the steak chefspecial and enjoyed all of that too .They had a daily focaccia special with butternut squash and garlic confit that was awesomeespecially with a bit of pesto or Sriracha on top ! Get that. I'd skip the banana pudding though it just seemed like vanillapudding on top of cake pieces. Try the home baked cookie if you want something sweet. Other than that everything was excellent.Good spot for single diners too. On corner of 4th avenue and 13th Street."

"Honestly, the food here is pretty good. I had a farro bowl with chicken breast, street corn, and cauliflower which was tasty. I'm also a fan of their kale salad and mac n' cheese. I really didn't appreciate any of the people who worked there though. When I went in, I could see two employees behind the counter, and one of them was helping a customer. However, I just stood there waiting while the other employee loitered around doing nothing and then after several minutes the guy finally decided to take my order. As he was serving me, he barely made eye contact, looked like he didn't want to be there, and also gave me small portion sizes smaller than other locations. I was checking out with the other employee and was trying to use a coupon I had from their rewards app but he refused to let me use it. It clearly has a button that says you can use the coupon in store, but he said that they would only accept it if it were placed through an online order. He could have said this nicely, but was exceedingly rude and curt with me which really put me off. Obviously I had already gotten this far, so I just gave up on using the coupon and tried to get out of there as quickly as possible. This was just such a frustrating and negative experience if you come here, you can expect tasty food served with terrible attitudes."
