"The decor reflects traditional Asian elements, presented with style—not cluttered with outdated calendars like some other places I've encountered. Now, let's talk about the service. To be fair, we did take quite a while to decide on our meals, but our server was very kind and patient. The menu is incredible, featuring several pages of options. Although it's not my personal favorite, they do offer sushi and other raw dishes as well. When our meals arrived, we were amazed at the presentation—the plates were a generous 15x15 inches and filled to the brim with an ample amount of food. Everything was hot, fresh, and of high quality. This is truly the best all-around Chinese food I’ve enjoyed in the last 10 years. The average dinner price is $17.99, which is quite reasonable. Do yourself a favor and experience what authentic Chinese cuisine is really meant to be!"

"After a long drive home, I opened the food only to discover that they forgot an essential item: the sweet and sour sauce. I called to let them know, and all the staff member could say was, "Oh? I'm sorry." I explained that I was driving back from afar to retrieve it, but she didn't offer any compensation, like a drink or anything, for the inconvenience of returning for what I had ordered. It's disappointing because this isn’t a fast food establishment, and they were not particularly busy. I tipped generously and remained calm, yet all I received in return was a lackluster apology. It seems they’re not interested in retaining customers. I won’t be returning. I wasn’t looking for anything free; I just expected a sincere acknowledgment of the error rather than a casual dismissal. When I consider the tip and the gas I had to spend driving back, I ended up paying around $14 more than I should have. Apologies for the lengthy message, but I’m really disappointed with this experience."

"First of all, FOOD it’s absolutely delicious:D. I don’t ever write reviews because it’s a waste of time but I’ve read the reviews before going here (ofc like everyone else) and the reviews don’t seem very good for some reasons. BUT the food here is made in a way that bring out the flavor. I ordered the beef and broccoli and I LOVE IT. The beef is made in a way that it’s chewy at first and then after chewing it, the flavors of just asian cuisine comes out . I would say it’s the best Chinese food place in this area. Service the people here are very amazing and friendly. The line was very long but they manage to take care of every customer in a timely fashion. Just looking at how much people there is makes me stressed, I don’t know how they do it, ngl. The Atmosphere, I gave it a 4/5 because people would think I’m a bot if I don’t put that. This place looks like it leads back to almost 30 years. The artworks, the clock by the corner mirror(a kid there showed me, it glows and it actually works) , the phone (I tried the phone and it actually works), and even the heater at the side looks so long agooo. I also asked too and the kid told me it leads back to almost 20-30 years. Crazy isn’t it??? Also, food gets soggy because you don’t pick up your order at a timely fashion and eat it at a timely fashion, I don’t know what the hell people here are complaining about!!!"

"This is a fantastic spot for a cozy dining experience. I brought my grandma here, and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. We ordered shrimp Lo Mein, orange chicken, shrimp fried rice, and two wonton soups. We definitely had more food than we could handle, but it was great to have leftovers for later! We also appreciated the excellent service, especially since the staff was bilingual. My only critique would be the size of the menus and the small tables."

"I've always been a fan of China Cafe! Their Mongolian beef is among the best in the Quad Cities, and their crab rangoons are absolutely delicious. Although their prices have increased recently, which limits how often I can dine there, this trend is common to many places after the pandemic. The portion sizes are generous and the food is fantastic, so it's definitely worth it. I highly recommend giving it a try!"

"I have been craving wonton soup for months but I was afraid to try any of the local options in case it wasn't made the way I was craving it. Despite this, I decided to test out this restaurant and man oh man did Xin Xian deliver. I ordered online and was pleasantly surprised at the quickness in which they cooked my food. I arrived to pick it up and the man who was working was very kind. The wonton soup is perfect and just how I remember it from my childhood, plus it was exactly like the picture from the website and the portion was huge for costing less than two bucks. I also ordered the sesame chicken and my boyfriend and I loved it. The breading wasn't hard or dry and the chicken was still juicy, plus the flavor was evenly distributed and not bland. The portion for the chicken was also surprisingly large, even my vacuum of a boyfriend was impressed by how much they had given us. I also had specifications for my order and they provided them all without a single mistake. I want to reiterate how nervous I was for this food because I am very particular. They made my week with the discovery of my childhood favorite at a reliable place near where I live and reasonable to boot. I will absolutely be coming back and leaving a large tip when I do for the sheer comfort their soup provided me. It was so good I felt the urge, as 19-year-old, to text my mother back. Amazing place would definitely recommend, especially if you love a good chicken wonton soup."

"This Chinese restaurant is a standout in Portland. The owner, Kamal, was very kind and allowed us to dine in, even though they don't offer much dine-in service due to staffing issues. We live about an hour away and needed a place to eat after a Christmas concert. My 95-year-old grandmother requested Chinese food to take home, so we were happy to get takeout from here. We enjoyed hot and sour soup, pork dumplings, and BBQ spare ribs as appetizers. For dinner, we had Singapore rice noodles, sweet and sour chicken, beef with peapods, and pork fried rice. Everything was absolutely delicious. We are grateful to Kamal for his hospitality and will definitely return when we're in town."

"I’m giving Chef House 2 stars mainly because of their service, ease of ordering, and the fact that the food was served hot. The egg rolls were dense and flavorful inside but felt dry and seemed to be fried in old grease. The Happy Family dish lacked the amount of meat expected, and the lime flavor didn’t suit my taste. The sesame chicken was also drier than usual. The prices were quite high—I spent nearly $45 on two house specials plus an extra egg roll each, which I didn’t feel was worth it. So I'm shocked to see these food poisoning statements that look magically similar if you catch my drift. With the original owners, the Wongs, no longer around, I wasn’t sure what to expect. However, I’m happy to report that the food was just as delicious as I remember from my youth. "$90 for this, I think not, see picture for what they think $90 worth of food is. Absolutely disgusting.. Food was stale, old, overcooked. Sauce was congealed disgusting. Got one piece of broccoliin a dish. Manager/owner was very rude. Website is completely funfusing poorly done for ordering. Take warning save your money. Find somewhere else. Also if you do order from here be aware they charge whatever they want on tax so pay attention to your reciept because these guys are crooks. If I hadn't had hungry children to try to feed I would have returned it myself. Fyi, kids didn't like it either."
