"I will probably never go back! I gave it a one star because the hostess was sweet. My daughter 's and I were seated on the patio (as we had requested) and were completely ignored for over 5 minutes. The waiter finally came and greeted us with, How are y 'all this evening? I was a little put off that it had taken him so long to even acknowledge our presence, but I replied, Pretty good. Thank you. After a very brief pause, he (sarcastically) replied, I 'm good too. Thanks for asking. I ordered our drinks and the table side guacamole. He acted somewhat irritated that we wanted him to make a guacamole for us, but went to get the ingredients. He brought the ingredients to the table and proceeded to prepare the guacamole for us. I attempted small talk with him while he was working, asking if he had made the fresh guacamole many times before. He commented that he had been a waiter there for 8 years and replied, Yes. Way too many times! As he was making it, I noticed he was trying to scoop something out of the mix with his spoon. He repeated it several times and I finally asked him what he was doing. He told me he was trying to get a hair out of the mix. He tried a couple more attempts to capture it with the spoon and finally gave up and went and got another set up to start over. When our dinners finally came, none of us had silverware. He acknowledged that and excused himself to go get us some. We sat looking at our plates of hot food for almost 5 minutes before I was finally able to catch the attention of another worker and requested they bring us silverware so we could eat. Needless to say, our food was not piping hot by the time we finally got to eat it. When our waiter did return, he had no silverware. The food was not that great and the service was snarky and slow. When we finally got the bill, he pointed out to me that we had been charged for two table-side guacamoles, but assured me that one of them had been comp 'd. Are you kidding me? That should never even have been a consideration to charge me for guacamole that had hair in it. It was an absolutely horrible experience. I left the restaurant feeling angry and, at the same time, wanting to cry because I was so upset."

"First off, the smoked meat is great. No issues with the food. However, the business should post hours publicly, especially when they sell out of product. We called to reserve brisket for pick up on 7/16/23. On 7/15, we called to confirm they would be open on 7/16 and that they had our order for pickup. We drove 74 miles to meet family at Corner Pit in Dellrose. On our drive there, we called to confirm again and got a message that was a week old. All sources online stated they weee open. After our 1 hour and 20 min drive, we arrived to find a sign on the door “closed due to selling out of meat”.The owner should operate her business better. There are many opportunities today to post or message that your business is closed to let others know. As we were there. 4 other cars arrived and were equally as frustrated as we were that afternoon.I really like the food here but the service is an issue. Inconsistency can ruin a small business quickly. My advice: if you are planning to eat here call first. If no one answers and you can’t confirm Corner Pit is open, don’t go there.Response:Jake thank you for your response. The issue is your business gave us your word that you would have brisket for us waiting Sunday after we placed the order 14 days prior to 7/15. We gave our number and could have been contacted to let us know BEFORE we drove 70+ miles to pick it up, especially since we called and confirmed on 7/15 at 3 PM that you would be open and you would have the brisket for us.I understand your business model. I appreciate the quality of your food. I also understand (being an operations leader for the last 15 years) that you have to do what you say you will do and honor your word. Best way to do business. I will chalk this up to a lesson learned and hope this is for you as well."
