"I'm very disappointed with Public School 702's website. I made reservations for our party to celebrate Mother's Day, based upon their advertised menu on their website. We were really excited to try all the good looking food. However, once we were seated, we were told they only serve a brunch menu from 12 pm to 3 pm on weekends. Nowhere on their website could I find they only served brunch on the weekends during 12 pm to 3 pm. You can imagine how disappointed all of us were. The manager came over and I showed her the website and we (both me and the manager) could not find anything about how brunch is the only menu available between 12 pm and 3 pm on the weekends. There was a kids menu available in which they made accommodations for our three kids we had in our party. However, the adults had to make do with a subpar, limited menu. Fast forward to receiving our food, we had to send our wings back because they were not properly cooked. The menu advertised them as crispy wings but they were not crispy at all. My chilaquiles was not good (overpowering lime flavor on the verde sauce) and they forgot the brownie in our brownie sundae dessert. If it wasn't for our incredible server Jennifer, we really would've left there very upset. Fortunately Jennifer had such a great personality and empathized with our situation. I hope this restaurant will consider my feedback and will make some updates on their website to advertise a brunch only menu on the weekends from 12 pm to 3 pm. If I had known that beforehand, we would've come after 3 pm to enjoy their full menu or made other restaurant reservations for Mother's Day. Upon leaving the restaurant, I noticed the one place where brunch was advertised for the weekends during 12 pm to 3 pm and it was posted on their window right outside their entrance. After this experience, I can't see myself recommending this place to my friends or family. But if you decide to come here and get Jennifer as your server, you'll be in good hands."

"Located right off the 101 freeway, upscale barbecue restaurant Wood Ranch has consistently served up Camarillo's best food for years. Speaking as a native Southern foodie--who grew up 100 miles from New Orleans and who has lived in Texas, South Carolina and close to Memphis--I'd rank their ribs, pulled pork, etc. right up there with the best. Not to mention an enticing array of sides, such as tangy peanut cole slaw, fluffy baked potatoes always freshly cooked, and The Very Best sweet potato fries around. Lunch specials include fun foods like beef and pork sliders, and their creative salads and chicken tortilla soup are great for lighter appetites. No matter what you choose, don't say no to their signature garlic rolls! Their wine selection is excellent, offering a carefully curated selection of California's best wine values. On Tuesdays they place all wines on 30% discount, and they now offer 10% off glasses of all their wines during weekday happy hour from 3-6! There are three seating areas: indoor booths with subdued lighting, bar with booths and bistro tables, and a double-decker semi-enclosed heated patio (our favorite . But don't be fooled by the burgers and bbq, this is a fine dining restaurant with excellent service offered in a casual atmosphere--the best of all worlds. Dietary restrictions: For medical reasons, my diet is not just gluten-free but grain-free. This is my go-to local restaurant because of the variety of options I have. (Of course, if you are a sensitive celiac, you need to be careful."

"My dining experience at Wood Ranch in Dana Point, CA, was nothing short of phenomenal. Having previously enjoyed the food at their Irvine location, my expectations were high, and I'm delighted to report that WR Kitchen Dana Point met and exceeded those expectations. With a mouthwatering menu, impeccable service, and the added bonus of no wait time, it was a 5 star experience all around. We were thrilled to discover that the menu at the Dana Point location was the same as the one we love at the Irvine location. Eager to dive into the delicious offerings, we ordered the barbacoa street tacos, hot wings, and Shishido peppers. Each dish was prepared to perfection, with a beautiful balance of flavors that left us craving more. One thing to note about the barbacoa street tacos is that they pack a spicy punch. They were even spicier than the hot wings, which may be something to consider if you're not able to handle much heat. My girlfriend had a bit of a hard time with the tacos, but as someone who loves spice, I thoroughly enjoyed them. The hot wings had just the right amount of heat to satisfy our taste buds, while the Shishido peppers were a delightful surprise a unique and tasty appetizer that we will undoubtedly order again on future visits. To complement our meal, we enjoyed a refreshing margarita and a smooth glass of red wine, both of which were expertly crafted. What truly set our experience at Wood Ranch Kitchen in Dana Point apart was the stellar service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and efficient, ensuring that our dining experience was seamless from start to finish. It was a refreshing change of pace from the often crowded and bustling Irvine location, which had an hour and a half wait on the same evening. In summary, our visit to Wood Ranch's Dana Point restaurant was an exceptional dining experience that we won't soon forget. With a delicious menu reminiscent of the Irvine location, outstanding service, and the added bonus of no wait time, we couldn't have asked for a better night out. Just be mindful of the spice level in the barbacoa street tacos if you're sensitive to heat. We will undoubtedly return to Wood Ranch and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a top notch dining experience in the area. Five stars, without a doubt!"

"July 2024 We had a disappointing experience compared to our last time, six years ago. The place has not changed, but the quality of the staff and food certainly has, and to the negative side. Four of us came out to dinner. We sat down and perused the menu. Just as we sat down, one of us had to take a call. He went outside so as not to disturb the rest of the people in the place. The waiter came to tell us the specials. We asked him to wait for our last member, who was on his way back in. However, he chose to walk away after telling us he’ll be back in 20 seconds. We watched as he wandered around the restaurant and spoke with five or six other tables before coming back to our table 15 minutes later. He told us the special and we ordered an appetizer. It was the Crispy Buffalo Cauliflower which we thought was OK. It was just as advertised with the standard Red Hot wing sauce coating the dried cauliflower florets. When we ordered the main dishes, we asked our waiter whether he was comfortable pairing wines? He said he was, but then recommended a wildly inappropriate wine for the dishes we told him we were ordering. Needless to say, we did not order the wine he recommended. The next negative surprise was the food itself. As it turned out, three of us ordered the stacked panko chicken dish. When they came, all three were different from each other! One was good, it was hot, and it had a good amount of sauce on the chicken and the couscous as well as mushroom chunks. That’s the one I have a picture of. The second one was cold, had no mushrooms, but was sauced properly. The third one had no couscous and was swimming is so much of the sauce that it looked like a soup. We sent that one back – when it came back, it was lukewarm chicken served on a bed of couscous with absolutely no sauce at all! How is it possible to have four or the same dish come out of the same kitchen during the same service in four different ways? This lack of consistency is a really bad sign. The other dish we got was the Baramundi. It was served on a bed of Basmati rice that was tasteless. It was dry, and then some butter was mixed in to try and cover up that problem. Really, making rice properly is not that difficult! By the way, after we gave our orders, we never saw our waiter again. We were served by several female waitresses and someone who appeared to be a lead or manager. The male waiter was there, he was just wondering around and talking with other tables. Spending $50 per person for these kinds of experiences? No, just no. Between the food and the service problems, I am downgrading my rating from a five star rating to a two-star rating. Previous Visits Quiet place with very good food. Menu has a little bit of everything and all is well prepared. It's off the beaten path and has an interesting light arrangement that changes colors all the time but subtly. Good wine list to boot Second visit showed an updated menu with the same ambience and quality."

"I have dined here a few times but this was the worst service. I arrived at pm. for reservation and my friends were running a few minutes late. When i was seated i said i wanted to order a glass of wine. The server dropped off the menu and then she did not come back for quite some time, and in the restaurant business, this is just not ok. I was surprised by this and decided to go to the bar and get it myself and after standing there for a few minutes and being ignored, i asked if i could order some wine and there was an awkward moment because my server was there too. It is a small place, but the bar was empty, the patio was empty and there were maybe four tables of customers, not overwhelming. It seemed there were two servers and a couple of bussers. Everything seemed to be slow I wanted help figuring out the wine selection and got a few tastes and finally chose one, went back to table and it did eventually show up. The food which was good, took too long to come out. They were out of of one of the two ice cream offerings after minutes we wanted to cancel desert but server said it was coming right out, which it did. She presented the bill quickly enough too bad the food wasn't presented as quickly. She told us that they had a reservation coming in shortly for this table...pretty rude considering that we were not lingering there for any other reason but for the kitchen or service being slow! I have been here several times and last time everything was terrific. Hopefully tonight was a one of. I will give them another chance because they do a nice job with vegan food, which is hard to find! I will say that when the server was at our table, she was pleasant and helpful but that's not enough. Not sure if the hiccup with the service is because she was new, or they were short handed, though frankly slow service at p.m. in a restaurant with a half dozen or so inside tables doesn't bode well"
