"I?m giving it two stars bc the experience was awful. The sushi and sashimi were good. We got there at 7:30, didn?t get sat until 8:30, then we were put into a dark, weird corner of the far end of the restaurant. Our sushi came out pretty quick and we were done eating by 9. The rest of our party and our son ordered hibachi. The chef didn?t show up to the table until 9:45. He apologized and said they only had two chefs, however they failed to disclose this info at the front.Had we known this, we would have gone somewhere else, instead here I am leaving a poor review. When we got our bill, they had charged us for several items from another party. The whole experience was just terrible."

"I went with a group for a birthday. It was the worst service any of us had ever experienced. Our waiter only took a couple of drink orders and then left for more than 20 minutes before we checked in to take the rest of the table order. For the food we had to tell him that we had to order. Then he took 4 orders, went away and didn't come back. When we got him to come back after telling several other workers we needed to complete the order, he forgot that he had taken the first orders. He finally took a few more orders and went, again not to every person at the table. It took 2 hours in total and the food came out at all different times. We were all honestly very confused about what was happening throughout our dinner."

"The food is generally good, and today was no exception. This restaurant has always had a bit of an old charm. When I heard they were closing for renovations, I thought I'd give it another shot. Unfortunately, it still felt unkempt. The atmosphere was old and shabby. I used the restroom and discovered someone had not managed to clean up after themselves, which isn't really their fault, but the bathroom was in a terrible state. There was dirt everywhere, the baseboards were grimy, and the floors were not clean at all. I don't think I'll be returning."

"Oh no… a total waste of my $30. The food was so horribly gross. I ordered a dinner special, 2 chef special rolls… a King roll and a Mr. Ed roll. One of them looked like it had chicken in it!??? I had to do a double take. There was not supposed to be chicken in what I ordered, but it didn’t look or taste like anything the description said would be in the roll. "That was by far the best sushi experience I ever had in my life! We had Matthew as our server and I can't tell you what a pleasure it was to chat with him and what he added not only to our day, but also to the meal. It was a little busy and yet he always had a smile and took time to join us. As if we were special! We didn't have to wait or ask for something! He introduced us new flavors. His recommendations were at the forefront. He knows his stuff! You can say he loves his work. I can't believe that such a jewel is torn away in this little strip-mask in San Marcos! Matthew alone was worth every minute and every cent! The food was also so delicious! It was fresh, it looked beautiful and we made us feel extremely full (we had to take something home) not only physically but also in spirit. There was no thing that didn't taste good. We will definitely be back and if I had it in my way, I would never go anywhere else for sushi."

"Yesterday (1/17/2021) was the first time I visited after the name change. Quality is still pretty bad. The sushi had more rice than what should be in a roll. There were barely any fish (they were paper thin), cucumber, snow crab or other ingredients in the roll. It’s like they put as much rice as possible to be cheap as possible. I would rather pay more for better sushi than to pay for “rice rolls” that they are calling “sushi rolls.” Even their egg rolls barely had any stuffing. They were mainly wrappings fried up. Their sweet and sour chicken fried chicken contained mainly breading and if you’re lucky, you’ll get a measly speck of chicken. They should just call it fried breading rather than chicken. If you want repeat customers, provide quality food. Reasonable people will rather pay more for quality than a cheap buffet price for cheap food."
