"I don’t like giving a bad review, but my recent experience was so bad, I had to say something. I ordered fish and chips on line and was told to pick up in 1/2 hour. I arrived 5 minutes early, looked for someone to ask about my order, kitchen help had no idea, but summoned a pleasant woman who handed the order over. I figured out that the order had been waiting for some time, because the paper container wasn’t even warm. When I got it home, exactly .5 miles, taking less than 5 minutes, it was cold and soggy. I reheated it successfully, but was appalled at how bad the fish was. It was tough and tasteless. There is no doubt it was made from old, frozen fish. The batter was greasy and tasted of baking powder. In a word, awful! My dog got a couple of bites, I took antacids and dumped it in the garbage disposal. For $29.00 plus taxes and a tip, I expect more. Lesson learned, I won’t be back. It’s too bad; the Owl and Elm was a good restaurant, but in my experience, it has deteriorated significantly.
