"We’ve always had pleasant experiences at Okura, from service to food. The staff is gracious and accommodating. The food is very good, flavorful and presented nicely. We had a 6:15 reservation and were seated promptly. The server was prompt and courteous. Apparently, there was a large party at the time we were there. Our server communicated that the appetizers we ordered were taking longer than expected as a result of the large party and asked if we wouldn’t mind having our sushi first and apps after. The fact that he took the time to explain the situation and provide options was greatly appreciated and allowed us to have a pleasant and relaxing experience, overall. I recommend Okura"

"I feel like since we took time and gather such a large party someone should let us know if the air conditioner is broken or not. This this is for our comfort. We are paying customers. Again a large party as well. But after asking about the air conditioning, one of the servers, not ours, was very border line rude when we ask if the air can be turned up. No other option or care to ask for a fan on us was offered. So after silverware and other basic necessities were we're asked for and not present, we finally got our food. The presentation was nice but we ate while sweating. I know who the owners were and not once did any management come and check out our one table. Or ask us if we needed anything extra did anything extra, management didn't care if they were restaurant customers or employees or employees were suffering on 1 of the hottest days, nonetheless busiest."

"Everyone at the table waited patiently for an hour of help showing up for our 6pm reservation for soda and soft drinks then antics before making any of the food. The food was so tiny… I ordered a $34 combo plate and maybe had 8 or 9oz of meat in all 3 (fillet, chicken and shrimp combined) Chef noticed he messed up and gave away the bulk of the food to 2 others not in our group. He continued to cut the meat over and over to “make more pieces”: notice how tiny the pieces are because he was trying to make it look like more food by cutting it into smaller pieces. This is my wife’s entire “Fillet and chicken” meal maybe 5 oz of meat in total who needs a plate fill of rice to eat meat that’s not much bigger than a grain of rice after he cut the heck out of it trying to make it look like more that is about as plentiful as a kids meal, several of us were shorted food in a major way. Just look at how pitiful my wife’s meal is it was literally about a dozen tiny slices of meat . Double order of white rice and couldn’t even finish half the order of rice with such a tiny amount of food. We will never come back again. This happened to us last time when you’re the last ones served food off the grill you get screwed and leave the restaurant still hungry and pissed off. 2nd time shame on me for giving them a second chance. We spent over $300 on our tab and most of the party left angry and still hungry. My wife warned me about this from last time. I said that was isolated and wouldn’t happen again well it did and for me to take the time to post this says something— avoid at all cost and spend your hundreds of dollars on a meal on a restaurant where you won’t still be hungry when you leave."

"Can you guess which is my favorite dish? We had a fantastic first visit here while celebrating our two-year dating anniversary! Here's to many more anniversaries to come. We absolutely loved the sushi and found the staff to be incredibly charming. If only they would open another location up north near the beltway—if that happened, we would be regulars! We tried the monkey brain, 3 habaneros, 2 black tobiko, 1 spicy mussel, 1 spicy scallop, 2 escolar, the sashimi deluxe (16 pieces), 1 roll of papi maki, and 1 salmon sashimi—which was hands down the best salmon I've ever tasted in Houston—plus 2 pieces of salmon sushi."
