"Today I walked into the restaurant and asked for a menu to order takeout based on the sign on the front porch of the restaurant stating halal.I asked the individual to confirm if the food was Halal he did reply yes but I did not see a Halal declaration anywhere posted on the wall or any signs inside the restaurant stating halal certified. Like the one you can see below at a nearby, Indian restaurant. Upon my request to present any certification, he replied, we are cleared by the health department. I informed him Last I checked, the health department is not the governing authority in this matter. He told me if you don't believe it's Halal don't order anything, rather than trying to provide any proof. As a Muslim, we do not compromise our faith so I decided to walk out without ordering anything."
