"I visited this restaurant with a group yesterday and was struck by its inviting atmosphere and the top-notch service from the staff. We began with the barbacoa, which was good but not particularly spicy—Oaxacan cuisine is generally milder than traditional Mexican food. While many places serve acceptable barbacoa, this one was just average. I also sampled the tlayuda, which didn’t impress me; it could have used more salt, and the meat was quite tough. The chicken in black mole was tasty, but I noticed they don’t prepare their own mole; I spotted the mole paste in their fridge. Overall, the experience was decent but not exceptional."
