"We visited this restaurant to enjoy my favorite dish, Huevos Ranchero. However, I decided to try their new offering, Cochinita Pibil, instead. As someone who enjoys cooking, I can honestly say that this will be the only pork dish I want to eat from now on. It is absolutely incredible! The staff is fantastic as well. Lexie assisted us and was friendly, attentive, and incredibly quick. We didn’t even have to wait a minute for our beers!"

"My first time trying this restaurant. The cuisine is my favorite so I've been to a few. The Margarita I ordered arrived to the table with a sparkle. I mean an actual sparkler and a cool smoking element. I suggest at least one person at the table order on to at least see the first hint after just the Uber nice waiter I was in for an awesome experience. I order the Nuevo burrito and it was packed with yumminess!. The flavors they impart to simple food is an experience your tongue will spend rest of the night in nirvana afterwards. I'm told by my dinner companion that each trip is just as welcoming and food has been wonderful every time or new item tired. Is worth your trip across thier threshold into their restaurant. Let me know what you tired so next ine I make I can have a new wonderful favorite to find. Vegetarian options: There is a full page of vegetarian options available and I came close to ordering one that sounded so yummy maybe next time my carnivore side was hungrier ?"

"A cool looking (inside) restaurant with great service. I ordered a lunch special number 1 since I've always gotta try a Chile relleno out. It turned out to be the normal lackluster pepper I end up with 90 percent of the time. Not much flavor and it looked like a deflated balloon....no body to it at all. Also the lettuce in my guac salad was tough. The only bright spot was the chicken taco. The chicken in it was tender and moist. Great flavor too. "We were in town for a night and decided to have dinner at this restaurant. I ordered a top-shelf margarita, which was really nice; the addition of fruit and a gummy worm was a fun touch. The margarita itself was great—not too sweet. My husband went for the large burrito Mexicanos and remarked that it was very good; it was so big that he couldn't finish it! I chose the street tacos with pork carnitas, and the pork was flavorful. They came with sides of rice and a bean "soup," and I must say, the beans were exceptional. If we lived in the area, we'd definitely come back here!"

"GIRL, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Very bad language barriers between the staff... we had to ask for things 3 4 times before they understood what were were requesting (We asked for a pitcher of margaritas and carry out utensils and got met with blank stares by several waiters and they asked us to point at things on the menu). The food was abysmal. Very bland and I couldn 't make out where most of the vegetables were in my dish. Once our margaritas came out, they gave us coffee STIRRERS to sip them with, not actual straws. We also ordered appetizers (jalapeño poppers and mozzarella sticks) which were BURNED and served with some watery sauce that tasted like bbq (very strange). We were wondering why this place was completely empty during the week at dinner time. Please go to Cancun if you 're on the west side. This place needs to be shut down."

"My first visit was for lunch. They have twenty five lunch options plus one or two extra daily items from seasonal options. I chose lunch special #22 sautéed shrimp with crush red peppers. Yummy! A little heat but not scorching hot. You also get a large basket of chips and salsa. I will be back. I returned for another lunch. Antonio was my server. Great service. This time I had lunch special #8 sautéed shrimp with onions and creamy Chipotle sauce, served with lettuce, pico de gallo and rice (see pictures). The creamy Chipotle mild, smoked sauce provided a mild, smokey heat. YUMMY! Had ice tea to drink and the complimentary chips and salsa. Again, I will return for another lunch soon. I returned for my third lunch at Don Ramon's Mexican Restaurant. The food and the service was excellent. I enjoyed the lunch special #22 again. Very good depth of flavor. I returned to Don Ramon Mexican Restaurant for Cinco de Mayo 2022 for another lunch. The complimentary chips are a festive red, green and plain in honor of Cinco de Mayo. Using the lunch menu, I started with the Chicken Soup. A very tasty and hearty soup. Loaded with vegetables and rice and Chicken plus avocado slices. I had an unsweetened ice tea to drink. I finished my meal with the lunch special #22 again. The restaurant was full and they had extra wait staff on duty. However, after placing my meal order and being served in a timely manner, I had to ask multiple servers and four times for an additional bowl of salsa. It would have been nice to get the additional salsa sooner than later. The kitchen, as usual, was turning out well plated food with a great visual presentation and great taste. I returned to Don Ramon for my fifth meal. This time I started with Grilled Shrimp Appetizer. WOW! Very great flavor. I followed the appetizer with the Steak Mexicano. A nice meal but did not have the depth of flavor of the appetizer."

"Join me as I share my latest dining experience! After a long and exhausting day, I was not in the mood to cook, so I opted for El Rancho Grande for dinner. The salsa was excellent, and the chips served warm. The restaurant itself is quite spacious, and it was bustling during our visit on Saturday night. We ordered the Cheese Fajitas and a burrito, and I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed the fajitas. I ate about half of them there and took the rest home, which provided me with two additional lunches, making the $20 price feel a bit more justified. Unfortunately, they were out of fries and ice cream, which was really disappointing. As for the service, it was a bit inconsistent; our server fluctuated between being friendly and attentive to suddenly disappearing, and at times, being quite rude."

"Absolutely do not order from this restaurant! Initially, we were told that the pickup wait time would be 15 minutes, but we ended up waiting an extra 30 minutes. When we finally received our order, the food was cold. We requested lemonade but were instead given agua fresca and charged for the incorrect drink. Despite their offer to remake the food, they didn’t follow through and denied our request for a refund. Furthermore, the birria tacos are not worth the $18; they were flimsy and lacked sauce. Save your money and look elsewhere!"

"This Tex-Mex restaurant is fantastic! It features a lovely patio, although it can be a bit noisy due to the busy street. Nevertheless, the outdoor ambiance is delightful. The bar area is beautifully designed, and the main dining space is well-decorated. The most important aspect—the food—is delicious and of high quality. I only had lunch during my visit, so I didn't get to sample a wide variety from the menu. I enjoyed a chicken burrito alongside a beef taco and some black beans, which were a great alternative to refried beans. The staff were very friendly, and the service was quick. I highly recommend paying a visit, and I hope to return one day."

"This is my favorite local Mexican restaurant in town. However, like many places recently, their prices have gone up. Be ready to spend at least $18.99 for an entrée, and that doesn't include a drink. I usually manage to offset the cost by using a coupon that you can find online or in some local savings magazines. "The food was disappointing and not up to par. The service was decent, but that couldn't make up for the meal. I ordered the taco, enchilada, and burrito plate. The chips tasted like they came from a store. The beef taco was just mediocre. The chicken enchilada and chicken burrito were essentially the same dish, merely rolled in different-sized wraps, which felt quite lazy. The chicken in both was dry and lacked flavor. The sauce was also bland. It’s surprising how difficult it is to get Mexican food wrong, yet they somehow managed it. It might be beneficial for them to simplify their extensive menu and concentrate on perfecting a few standout dishes. Until then, I would recommend exercising caution when dining here."

"Monica and the entire staff at El Rancho Grande are simply amazing! I grew up working restaurants and I’ve been all over the world so I know a little about the business. And by the way it’s not easy but appreciate the team here and the top notch effort they give every time! I’ve had authentic Mexican cuisine in Mexico and can honestly say this restaurant rivals many of those and transcends the experience because of the extra effort given by the team. Also, Having lived in Italy for 6 years I have had some of the best food in the world but this restaurant, El Rancho Grande, is a true gem in Middletown and it’s truly our “Go To” for Mexican cuisine. We appreciate the staff here and they are truly like our extended family and much more than just a restaurant we dine at now and then. "I stumbled upon this place after visiting an antique show in the area. This place has one thing I’ve never seen before and it is the only reason I go to Springfield anymore. The birria pizza. It’s not so much a pizza as it is a pizza sized birria quesadilla. I always get it along with something new to try every time. This time I tried the tacos trio and shrimp tacos. They were okay. Previously, I tried the enchiladas, which were very good. The service was extremely fast and attentive, I felt like the President. It was also a typically nice Mexican-restaurant atmosphere. I advertise this place to everyone to try the birria pizza and I’ll keep coming back as long as they have it. Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian dishes. Parking: Very large lot. "Went to the restaurant at Eastgate. Being from out of town I figured Mexican would be a safe choice for a meal. How wrong I was! We placed our order and within minutes our food was out. Noticed the party of 6 next to us also received their food almostimmediately after placing their order. I have never been to a restaurant where that’s ever happened. Even fast foodrestaurants usually cook your meal. I had the carne asada which lacked flavor and was extremely undercooked/raw in some spots.My boyfriend had the chiles rellenos which tasted like they were frozen and reheated. The salsa was terrible, it had a weirdtomato flavor. It was about $52 for both our meals which is high compared to other Mexican restaurants I’ve been to, I don’tthink their food is worth the cost. I’ll definitely not ever dine here again. 1 star for the staff being pleasant and havingclean bathrooms. PROS: little wait time when I went, nice decor, clean bathroom, pleasant staff CONS: flavorless food,undercooked meat, very pricey for what you get"

"The food and drinks at El Tapatio were outstanding. We shared the Margarita for two, which was so generously sized it could have served four, and it tasted amazing. The salsa was also top-notch. "I think I just don't have luck at restaurants named Agave. While the place looks cute, its lack of flavor (or just basic seasonings like salt) make this a place not worth visiting. I appreciate that there was Valet because there is limited street parking and their lot was small. My husband said the valet was rude, but I didn't witness it myself. We were a very large table, so while accommodating, service was very slow and we probably should've had two dedicated waiters vs the poor nice waitress who was completely overwhelmed. Drinks were OK, but everything was watered down and there are no prices on the drink menu. I think we finally ordered appetizers about an hour after we arrived( and entrees about 45 minutes after that). While there was a nice presentation the food was terrible. The cheese fondue, has zero flavor (honestly you couldn't even tell there was cheese) it was a soupy thin mess with chewy shrimp inside. I kept trying to figure out the flavor, and I assume they didn't make the flour mixture in it correctly. The chips they brought out with it were stale, and nothing like the chips we had with a snack (although they never refilled them and we had a tiny helping to share between 6 people. We also split tostados, which looked good but still lacked flavor, even the crema was bland. Since I could tell how the food was I opted for a burrito bowl, but was still dissatisfied. Overall while it may be cute for a birthday, you are better off going to chipotle where the food is much better and at least the service is fast. I have photos but they aren't even worth it to post."

"I called yesterday to advise the staff that we had ~25 people from our soccer team coming in at 4:30. I understand that you have a no reservation or call ahead policy, but really...what's the harm in calling to ask that you maybe hold the back room open for us (you're not going to he busy at 4 on Sunday anyway, right The lady that answered the phone we just super SUPER rude and condescending and the manager would not even talk to me. The girl that answered my call said we'll just put you on a list when you get here if you all want to sit together. no thanks.I called another Mexican restaurant not too far away and they were thrilled to host us and had our table reserved when we got there. All 30 of us had a blast and a delicious meal.Seems like a bad business decision to me ERN. We won't be back."
