"I want to start by mentioning that I’m from Arizona and have enjoyed Mexican food my whole life. Until now, I only found decent Mexican cuisine in Arizona or New Mexico. However, I was pleasantly surprised by Tampico's. Their salsa is excellent—flavorful with just the right kick, allowing you to appreciate the taste without overwhelming heat. It’s also the only salsa I’ve ever had served warm, which is a fantastic idea! I ordered the grilled fish, which was great, and the sauce that accompanied it was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Overall, my meal was one of the best Mexican dinners I’ve ever had. If I’m ever in Lafayette again, I will definitely return!"

"We had eaten at this location frequently over the last several years. We usually get a large take out order for the whole family. There have been frequent errors in getting the order correct with items often left out. Despite that, we continued to go there for the convenience and decent tasting food. However, the last couple of times have been different. 2 times ago the meat was spoiled and smelled badly. The manager/phone person claims not to know how to refund a credit card over the phone so we had to actually take the meat back to them for a refund. Last time they messed up the order and put cheese on all items meant for two people in our party with a severe dairy allergy. We had very specifically told them about the importance of this given the huge health risk and they had heard this numerous times in the past. Upon calling them, the manager/phone person said sorry bro, what can I do, they messed up in the kitchen. He took no resposibility nor really cared about a significant mistake. And again we had to return to the restaurant for a refund on food that we couldn 't eat. We have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but they have gone down hill in quality of food, and service, and simply don 't care. Mistakes happen and that 's understandable, but they absolutely do not take responsibility or try to fix them in a reasonable way. We have eaten here for the last time."

"We were excited to try this restaurant after seeing the positive reviews, and we drove 35 miles hoping for some great Mexican food. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. While the chips, salsa, and margaritas were enjoyable, the rest of the meal was disappointing. The steak tacos were dry and overly salty, among other issues. We were also let down by the unattractive decor, which featured empty containers as part of the design. To top it off, I almost slipped because the flooring was in disrepair. Overall, it was quite a letdown."

"The food at this restaurant is outstanding, featuring generous portion sizes and a wonderful atmosphere. During my dinner visit, I experienced exceptional service. The price per person is quite reasonable, ranging from $10 to $20. I would give top marks to the food, service, and atmosphere, all receiving 5 stars. "This was the first time I've been to Catrina's and it was great. The restaurant seemed clean and a good atmosphere. The servers and hosts were all friendly. We were able to be seated immediately as it wasn't too busy. Chips and salsa were delivered immediately and were good. The salsa was actually on the hot side, which I prefer, so that was great!There were a lot of choices on the menu, but I opted for the chicken fajitas. The food was delivered pretty quickly and the fajitas were hot. They were great, there was a lot of chicken and the seasonings used were tasty. The fajitas came with sour cream, pico, guacamole, beans, and rice. The flour tortillas were a little small and could have used more, but they were good too. Overall a great place to eat."

"My daughter and I have been here twice now for our unofficial daddy daughter lunch days and have enjoyed not only the food but the atmosphere as well. The service is fast and friendly, and my daughter and I shared the steak and shrimp fajitas which came to our table hot and sizzling as they should, the only issue was that they only gave us 4 shrimp and my daughter loves shrimp. Everything other than that down to price of the food and the music they play while you're eating was great."

"My family and I recently visited the area from out of state, and we didn't have high expectations for a Mexican restaurant in Maine. However, they completely exceeded our expectations! The food was absolutely delicious, and the beer selection was impressive as well. My mother appreciated the variety of vegan options available, which was a definite plus for her. Additionally, the woman I believe is the owner, along with the young man working there, were incredibly helpful and accommodating, especially with my brother who has autism. My only complaint is that the restaurant is quite far from where I live! I sincerely wish the best for this wonderful establishment!"

"The only reason I am giving a 2 star is because the place is clean and looks nice. The food was hardly edible. The waitresses were standing around and acted like they hated their jobs. I had to get up to ask for a refill for my tea. My food was bland andmy husband's chorizo was so salty he couldn't eat it. Then once we were done they walked by several times but never asked if weneeded the check so we had to go to the counter again and ask for it. The waitress was honest though because my husband droppedmoney out of his pocket and she brought it to us. So I tipped good eventhough the service and good sucked."

"Ordered the birria tacos. Very disappointed. Greasy, extremely dry and had little favor. Salsa verde tasted store bought and plain. Mexican sandwich is pretty decent. Can’t really go wrong with cheese, beans and rice. Had the Chicken added Queso. Chicken was a little dry but with all the cheese it wasn’t too bad. Ordered the Queso fundido appetizer with ground beef. This was excellent and almost a meal in itself. Server was very helpful and attentive. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back. Not authentic Mexican. They could work on the meat and seasoning."

"The restaurant was bustling on a Tuesday, which gave us high hopes, but the food ultimately disappointed us. The shrimp bowl special was enjoyable, but the Chimichurri steak fell short. While the flavors were good, the steak itself was overly fatty and cooked beyond my preference. The service was friendly but unhurried. Additionally, the menu and table were damp and had a lingering smell of cleaning solution, which was off-putting."

"Got my order wrong. Was suppose to come with Chicken, Steak, Shrimp and Chorizo. It came with pork only. Not only that, but we had to wait forever to get a refill on water as well as waiting on the bill. Feel sorry for the people of tongonoxie. Fortunately for me I’m not from here. Therefore I’ll never have to worry about coming back here again. Wish the place best of luck, but seriously lacks in so many areas."
