"So this place actually has pretty decent food and drinks. Their salsa is actually one of the best salsas in town! The reason for my two star rating has nothing to do with the quality of the food it's more that EVERY single time I order food to go (which is always, never sat down here to eat) they ALWAYS get my order wrong. The first time it happened I thought eh it's okay it happens, but nope this is a recurring issue at this restaurant. Today I went in and ordered my food and waited. My mother in law and I ordered three combo plates and I got a margarita to go. I waited patiently for about 20 minutes and then the nice hostess brought out my food all wrapped up in a bag and I left and went home. I get home and open the food and all three combo plates were not what I ordered. I called the restaurant and they replaced all my meals free of charge with my correct order. However, when I went back to pick up the food I could tell that the cook was irritated as the paper lids on the containers we're all smashed down and my food was totally smashed flat and was just slopped into the containers. This was def not my fault as I paid $75 for the food and for that much money I do expect them to get the order right. The owner of this place needs to get on top of their kitchen and needs to tell their cooks to mark/write on the container lids with the contents inside so they can stop continuously switching up orders if they insist on cooks bagging up the to go orders. If it continues I will stop going here and find another good local spot for Mexican food."

"Hey guys, my husband and I came from the Los Angeles Airport as we were flying from South America home to Perth Australia! I'm a self confessed tacoholic.... I'm in a relationship with tacos.... I had been dreaming of eating tacos in America since booking my recent holiday. And I've got to say you guys didn't disappoint! The food was **** awesome, delicious and tasty we went back for seconds We ended up deciding on chicken and beef tacos with Chipotle.... I was in heaven We were also blown away by the service, the staff were friendly and attentive even asking us if we were enjoying our meal and if we needed anything else. The staff even helped by ordering us a taxi after we had eaten.... Thanks guys you were awesome"

"Edit:Pretty sure my companion got food poisoning from the fish taco. They ate their whole taco whereas I only had a bite of mine because I really didn't like mine and it tasted fishy.Lowered from 2 to 1 star.....The restaurant is clean and a nice locationWe got fish taco dinner and split the plate. I wouldn't recommend. The fish tasted old. They were bland too. Definitely not worth the cost $20 for 2 tacos, bland beans, old boiled veggies).The veggies were just boiled carrots and zucchini that looked and tasted old.I really wanted them to be much better and to return to try the vegan menu, but the waitress didn't even bother to ask why we were finished with still a lot of leftovers."

"Bennys USED to be the go to destination. This used to be an amazing Soup and a great place to eat, but lately something changed, you get less of everything and it all costs more money. No chips, no salsa, this particular soup used to have plenty of chicken in the Homemade Mexican Chicken Soup .You can see that they have completely tried to take advantage of loyal customers. The staff is hard working this seems to be a management issue. I used to love Bennys now, I will likely order from other Mexican restaurants that are generous in their portions and charge half as much."

"While the food is okay and I'd like to give more stars for that, the smoking right out front of the establishment is a nightmare. Every time I sit down to eat, there comes a smoker to chokehold me by triggering my asthma with their damned smoking. Smoke goes inside as well, so hiding out indoors to eat is also a bust. What makes people think it is okay to smoke 4 ft away from the front door of a small restaurant where the front door is constantly opened and closed? Why has management not done anything about this? I've complained about this to the employees before. The only reason I came back today is because the Mediterranean restaurant next door is already closed. An absolute shame."

"I stumbled upon this restaurant last week without any specific expectations. As a Mexican American from San Francisco, I had pretty much given up on finding good Mexican food in Marin. To my surprise, I was genuinely impressed and delighted with my meal. The prices were reasonable, and the quality was exceptional. The staff provided excellent service and were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Their recipes are a wonderful tribute to their family traditions. I truly appreciate the culture and love they bring to their food. I can't wait to go back and try more from the menu!"

"Dont recommend you dont get what you pay for 7$ for a small burrito and to bland.You really want a carrne asada burrito go to Louse 6th st and Atlantic in LBC.Visited again 1/21/2024 Ordered a chicken burrito and 2 Sopes and a taco.The meat was very old.My doughter even said that my burritos I make at home are way better they didn't even care about having condiments for your food......Guys come on stop being lazy and serve us fresh food not old.Any body can make a better burrito than El Cantarito.Not going to recommend this place to anybody find out for yourself."

"I grew up in Los Angeles eating authentic Mexican food as a kid. This is not that food. Nope. My carne asada burrito had these teeny tiny nearly oblivious pieces of carne asada. It looked like very seriously like someone chopped up one single piece of thin sliced roast beef lunch meat (and not much of it) and tossed that in. If there were 2 tablespoons of meat in here, I'd be shocked. For all practcal purposes, I had a bean burrito. Salsas weren't great either. Chips that came with the burrito were totally lackluster. Not even a hint of salt. $11..95 for a carne asada burrito (without much meat that i could identify). $13.95 for a vegetarian burrito These guys are laughing at how they are selling this stuff to the Carmel crowd at ridiculous prices and for this quality. Will never order from here again and neither should you."
