"This is an outstanding restaurant! It was our first visit, as we're from Texas, and we were thoroughly impressed. We sampled a delicious shrimp cocktail, a molcajete, and two kid-friendly dishes, all of which were flavorful and well-prepared, especially for a restaurant in another state. A big shout-out to the host and our waitress for providing fantastic service throughout our meal. We also loved the melted cheese with chorizo and the handmade corn tortillas. I left this place feeling absolutely delighted! My expectations were exceeded, and I would definitely return! As for parking, the location is great, but finding a spot was quite challenging."

"Avondale was rated by Timeout Magazine as one of the coolest neighborhoods in the world in 2022 and on the list of places to try in Avondale, is Taqueria Mazamitla.I visited here recently with a few friends. The shop is small, yet spacious. There are plenty of tables, yet it never felt crowded. People are constantly walking in to pick up orders to go and those who dine in inhale their meals. No one sticks around long; that's a good thing.The service was quick, we must have waited no more than 10 minutes for our food. If there was one downside in the night, it was that the salsa is served in a tiny cup and each time we asked for more it was simply forgotten. We never did receive a refill. This alone would not have been disappointing, if the salsa they serve was average. But it's not. The salsa is excellent according to my partner, the best salsa she remembers having. In a table for four, you need to be quick to get your fair share. Fortunately, they sell their salsa to go, for $8 you take home a 32oz cup of the good stuff.Most of us ordered tacos. These are very reasonably priced. Most tacos are $3 $4, an excellent deal for the quality of tacos served. If you want a side of refried beans and yellow rice, opt for the taco platter. On the menu you'll see a two taco platter and a three taco platter for $12.50, but there doesn't seem to be a limit to the size of the platter you can get. I went for four and in hindsight should've ordered the five taco dish.I'm a s for the pastor (pork) and really enjoyed them here. I also tried the goat taco (birria) and was pleasantly surprised if I had ordered a fifth, it would've probably been another one of these. The vegetable taco was fine, the sour cream and avocado was a nice touch, but nothing to write home about.I left convinced the tacos were the thing to get here. One of us ordered the cheese enchiladas, which I got to try, and they weren't great.In the end, we all left satisfied. We walked two blocks west to wash down the dinner with beers at Sleeping Village."

"This restaurant embodies the true essence of family-style dining. I absolutely loved the shrimp tacos and the fresh guacamole made right at our table. We visited on a Friday evening and had a fantastic time with family-style karaoke and some dancing! The drinks were delightful—everything is house-made, and my favorites were the piña colada, mango margarita, and tamarindo margarita; they were all incredibly tasty! They also offer a buffet brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're part of the family."

"Growing up in East Harlem, I've always been around Mexican food, and it's one of my favorite cuisines when dining out. The food here is just ok, in my opinion. I'm not sure how to describe it since it's not bad, but it's definitely not food that I would daydream about or crave to eat again. On my last visit, I ordered the shrimp quesadilla. The quesadilla was pretty small and a bit oily. The presentation was also lacking with only 2 sliced tomatoes and guacamole on the plate. People seem to be drawn here for the margaritas. I would highly recommend the tamarind mezcal margarita, it was really great! The regular margarita was mediocre. If you're a fan of great Mexican food, the food here will probably be underwhelming, so it's best to come for the happy hour and stick with the drinks."

"The only reason im leaving two stars is because the soup was really good. Other than that i ordered the fried fish and shrimp plate and it came with rice and fries as a side. The fish and shrimp were completely flavorless not even a hint of salt. The rice tasted like dirty vegetables probably due to the old looking peas scattered through out it. The fries, well are just fries nothing special. Definitely would not recommend this place that cant even do fish properly and yet 90% their menu is seafood. Do not come here."

"So glad we stopped by this place. One of the best Mariscos spot I've tried! There was a lot flavor in each meal and big portions as well! There's complaints about parking situation, but there was plenty if parking spaces when we visited maybe we just got lucky lol If you're ever around Pacoima area, definitely check them out. I highly recommend their Camarones Empanizados and Aguachiles"

"One word: roaches. If you’ve never seen them crawling around while sitting at your table or the bar, you will now that you’ve read this review. I emailed them a couple years ago about it, and they blamed it on an abandoned upstairs apartment and said they’re trying to get the owners to take care of it. It’s still a problem.It’s unfortunate because the atmosphere is fun, the drinks are excellent, and the food is good, too. But I can’t ignore the roach problem and the wait staff that gets defensive if you point them out."

"in most restaurants you walk in smell the food and you feel like eating. Am I right?As I walked in, it smell like dirty water and chlorine Tables were dirty. I saw a dish tray with black mildew and the guy collecting the dirty dishes from the tables. They were cleaning the tables with just a wet old rag I had a feeling it didn't even have soap. The silverware had spots. Dishes didn't seem to be clean. They served orange juice and the glasses seem to leave water behind as if they just didn't dry them after washing them. need to invest in Mops I noticed the guy threw water on the floor and scraped it with a broom. It's kind of gross. They serve a lot of food but for what it's worth it's too pricey. Too much quantity not enough quality. Waiters need to be more properly hygienic a clean a tire. Maybe wash their hands. Cut the nails. I did not enjoy my breakfast. To top it off we waited a good half-hour too be attended without customers in front. Will give them fact that they were very nice polite and smiled. I do hope they improve. Please invest in proper cleaning supplies and proper soap. Please improve you're cleaning skills people do notice. I'm not kidding I had a stomach ache when I got home after eating eggs."
