"Qi (pronounced "Chee") is an outstanding Thai restaurant located just west of Times Square. Initially, when I was invited to have dinner there with some friends, I was a bit hesitant. Good food in Times Square? Could it be a tourist trap? Surprisingly, the food is exceptional. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the dishes. The interior is also visually appealing, featuring a clean, white décor that adds to the atmosphere.
The menu is divided into two sections: the Bangkok Classic menu and the Bangkok Selection created by renowned pastry chef Pichet Ong. The appetizers at Qi are a must-try. I highly recommend the Assorted Fritters, which include crispy chicken-shrimp dumplings, Asian chive corn dumplings, spring rolls, sesame tofu, and blanket shrimp, all served with a delicious peanut sweet chili sauce. While everything is tasty, the standout for me was the sesame tofu.
As for the main course, my favorite was the King Fish Teh-Pho Turmeric Curry. This dish features a generous piece of fried king fish served in a clay pot, accompanied by spinach, onions, and napa cabbage. Overall, Qi is definitely worth a visit for anyone looking to enjoy excellent Thai cuisine in a lovely setting."
