"UPDATE Just found out that some of our party was overcharged for their tip on their credit card! Downgraded from 3 stars to 1. I've been past The Hut on occasion, but I've never stopped in. A large gathering of friends changed that. The parking lot was full, but starting to clear out. Serving our bunch shouldn't have been much of a challenge if done right, however, there didn't seem to be much cooperation between the waitstaff, meaning that our singular server for our large group was instantly in the weeds. She did her best, but this still resulted in slow and inaccurate service, though nothing too major. She was very friendly, as was all the staff. A friend had one of the steaks, which he said was delicious, and probably included a whole quarter of a cow. Another friend had that jambalaya. I saw that the portion was a bit skimpy, especially for the price. I would have equated it to a lunch-sized portion at double the price. I started out with an appetizer of fried mushrooms. It was a huge portion and it required sharing it, unless I fill up on fungus alone. I'm not opposed to that, but still... For an entree, I had the beef stroganoff, which was one of the specials. It arrived in about the same portion size as the jambalaya. A heavy, salty brown gravy spooned atop noodles that were slightly overcooked. Small bits of tender beef, accompanied by only a few small buttons of mushrooms were included, but only barely. It just wasn't that good. At all. I requested a bit of sour cream, which it should have come with. The addition of the sour cream helped to cut the saltiness and made it much more edible. The desert portions looked very large, though I didn't sample any. I ordered three of the same simple, two-ingredient cocktails, but they all arrived tasting very differently. I wasn't too hip on the interior decor, which is meant to resemble a swamp, with swap murals on all the walls, but the outdoor dining area was amazing. The wonky portion sizes and inconsistent drinks tell me that maybe there's some inexperience at work here. My entree pretty much confirmed it. All in all, it was a good time, and I'd return if it weren't for the fraudulent tip charge on my friends' credit cards."
